File this in the “shouldda done this a long time ago” category.

Any other usability hacks I’m probably overlooking?

Looks like the painting bug bit you this week. 🤣

Is the the paint you used on the box blade hitch? I presumed you had rattle canned it, but are you using a sprayer?

Does Rustoleum say that paint is Kubota orange?

Analysis:

IMG_4495.jpeg

  1. Majic: senseless. Stupid dry times, like 24+ hours PER THIN COAT. Should have read about it online before buying it to try to face $6 over the Rustoleum. Major waste of time.
  2. Krylon: THIN coats. Dries fine. But 7 well-shaken coats on steel == transparent orange. (On white, however, the color starts to show sooner. Major waste of time.
  3. GREAT! Though the vertex effect or whatever prevents the spray from getting into nooks and crannies
  4. FINALLY. Thick. With a thick bristle brush (I used an acid brush) it dabs deep into the nooks and crannies left behind by broad spray #3. Dries fast and vibrant. I’ll use this for 90% because opacity is excellent

TL;DR:
#1 and #2 = landfill
#3 and #4 = keep on hand.

Oh; and the UX painting but hits me hard always, though sometimes delayed. I’m surprised it took this long. YouTube “Paint Your Flipping Bits Already” to see my partial philosophy on painting stuff to find stuff. 🤓

I see this as a slippery slope- where do you stop?
Screwdriver handles, hammer handles, wrenches, dog's tail, garden tools?

and to answer your Q: I rattle canned (#3) the thing, then I ordered the can (#4) to jam into the crannies.

My TV remotes, my keys, my glasses, my wallet, my wrenchs, my hammers, my.......

It would be self defeating because my whole world would be painted orange, thus blending in with each other.......o_O

It would be a waste of time for me to paint anything on my machine at this point! Too many dirt projects in the future. When Im done I will do some touch up!

Love those pencils for marking steel! Used them for years. My trick is orange duct tape to create a flag on the end.
