    sudden 3 point failure

below zero, depends on what you call extreme. Tractor had not been running long, engine about half warmed up but hydraulic fluid/tranny definitely not.

    sudden 3 point failure

Nothing more aggravating than something that does not have the decency to stay broke. Last night when I left the shop the arms were all the way down and control lever in the up position. This morning I walk in the shop and the arms are up! All I can figure is something was blocking a valve...

    sudden 3 point failure

Mid-1980's L2550 with FEL. Sudden complete 3 point failure. Loader and power steering work. Loader and auxiliary hydraulics develop full pressure under load and operate at normal speed. 3 point can be lifted up and dropped down with no resistance either direction (other than the dead weight of...

    case drain remote

Ya. As soon as I quit puzzling on it and went to bed it occurred to me a simple T into the common return line from the FEL and front third function valve, with a line to the rear will solve the problem. Will probably size down to a 3/8th to ensure no way to hook up wrong. Thanks for the reply.

    case drain remote

I am planning to build a hydraulic motor powered pto winch 3 point attachment for use with my L2550. The tractor already has a set of rear remotes, which I use with the Wallenstein roller feed chipper. The chipper has just the two typical hydraulic lines for powering the hydraulic motor that...

    Lost power steering on L2550

O-Rings finally arrived. Pump installed, no leaks, seems to actually steer better (quicker response) than before.

Advice on Plowing Snow with Chains or 4x4

Chains Baby! Been operating tractors and 4X4 pu in snowy country for decades. I do not care what the tread; snow tire, all season, mudders, studded, turf, ag, R4, 4x4 or 2 wheel drive; everyone overestimates what they can drive through, climb, descend or push with tires on snow/packed snow/ice...

    Lost power steering on L2550

Took some pictures, but the video I posted to YouTube shows it best. Go to You Tube and search for Kubota hydraulic pump issues, or go to this link (I hope). https://youtu.be/6wV6M0H3FTA

    Lost power steering on L2550

Sadly, no matching O-Rings or crush washers found in town so had Kubota dealer order them, will be a week yet. Took old pump apart to view damage. Main shaft spined on front with two tangs on rear. These are supposed to engage slot inside a bushing housed in front of the PS side of pump...

    Lost power steering on L2550

Never mind, they are all O-Rings (except the washer one). Indeed, front part turns, PS end not at all. Heading to town for O-Rings a new filter and some fluid.

    Lost power steering on L2550

Pump arrived today. Kind of thought for $1033+ that it would include the gaskets, not so. Looks to need three flat gaskets (mount to crank case, power line to implements, and oil in from filter), then the one on the Power steering line a brass looking washer. Anyone know part numbers for this...

    Lost power steering on L2550

Yes, I will photograph and try to post. Pump shipped Monday so maybe next weekend.

    Lost power steering on L2550

Took line off that goes to front for Power Steering, started tractor, not one drop came out. Figured this was a sign of broken or stripped shaft inside, I sucked it up and ordered new pump.

    Lost power steering on L2550

Ouch! Will dig into it tomorrow. Assuming I find breakage similar to what others have found, what would repair likely entail?

    Lost power steering on L2550

My L2550 did this exact thing tonight while plowing snow. Loader and 3 pt work fine, power steering not at all. Sounds like a new pump is in order. I see some sites listing used pumps. Would Kubota dealer have new pumps you think, for this age of tractor? Any suggestions for other pump sources?
