my thoughts is i would slide the mud cover on the drive shaft to front component to be able to turn shaft by hand .this would tell me which direction to look for the trouble ,either front differantal or toward transmission. its an easy place to start.

on the 4wd is the selector in the 4wd position

chect oil level in box should have dip stick also there are stop tabs that are adjustable on right side on little arm connecting to lift an lowere hand arm that can be set for lift an lower positions
