Just got the back tires tubed and loaded with something called Bio Ballast. Can't believe the difference! This Bio Ballast is supposed to be non corrosive. Each tire took about 10 gal. and added about 85 #s per tire.
But I usually eat lunch at 12 o'clock….make sure if you add air or want to check the air pressure, do it at 12 o'clock!
Hmmmm….Material can be corrosive to some metals; care should be taken when stored for long periods in metal containers.
That quote is from the Bio Ballast MSDS on the Bio Ballast site. That MSDS warning would be for Calcium Chloride ballast! The Bio Ballast is Beet Pulp Juice or brand name of "Rim Guard". Safe for the ground if it leaks and safer for the rims. Beet Pulp (sugar) No where near as corrosive as Calcium Chloride (salt) in your rims.
