Bit of an experiment this season on the new SB1051. Comparison of WD40 v. RejeX micopolymer polish to reduce or prevent snow from adhering. Not a side by side. Just sprayed down the box, impeller area with WD40. RejeX in the chute.
Have been using RejeX for a few years on the sailboat hull. Micropolymer "wax" used on vehicles, boats... Deep mirror reflective shine even on a snow white hull. No need for antifoul. End of the season. Some scum build up that washes off without any scrubbing. Water beads up and dribbles off. Hull looks showroom new.
So far, one day of snowblower use. First snowfall I just bladed the snow off the driveway. Snowblower was used the next day on the 2nd snowfall of ~6" of real dry powder and to cut the snowbanks back to allow max width of the driveway. But snow was still melting from the ground up. Box had snow packed in here and there. Chute was spotless deep shiny black. Not a real good test regarding plugging the chute. Might need to wait for late winter or early spring dump. For now, no verdict. Outside a bit disappointed with the WD40. Old Loftness was a mat black finish. Not good for keeping snow free. Needed WD40. Which wore off relatively fast. LandPlane snowblower is new. Smooth and shiny orange. Applied the WD40 last autumn. Maybe too light a coating? Or it didn't adhere to Kubota Orange paint?
