ohhhhhhhhhh, thank goodness lol
Yeah, on the lawn mower I am not that critical about the tires. As long as they hold air. Although I did put nice turf masters on them a few years ago. It's weird though, I cleaned the rim thoroughly before seating them. I have no explanation why it leaked. I could have hit something that pushed it in enough to get something stuck between the tire and rim and the air leaked out. I don't know 🤷🏻‍♂️

So first I cleaned both sides off for easy (and no chigger) access.

The last log is gone. Since this is over a mile from the Cabin and across a creek, these logs will be the foundation for a berm to prevent washing erosion.

Not gonna mill ‘ em, eh?

Didn’t do much today but did empty one compost pit (stockpiled it nearby). Put a layer of chips in that pit, and stirred the other pit to ‘cook’ a while. Compost is getting better all the time now since we got chickens. Certainly breaking down faster with the chicken chocolates in it.

Who posts wishing they had rocks?! I'm currently digging trenches for some freeze-proof hydrants and our frost line is 24" and the ground is FULL of rocks. Wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I think people want to build rock retaining walls or something. I dunno. Hard for me to imagine too. I’m fairly sure I’ve seen rock envy on OTT from time to time though.

@BBFarmer, since you've outed yourself as an HVAC and dash expert, I have one for you.

2018 Nissan Frontier, due to a 'light' front ender, I had to get a new AC condenser. Got it out of the shop Monday evening. Today I was running errands and it cools, but not like it should. This afternoon I opened the hood to poke around a little. The condenser outlet seemed warmer than I expected. The compressor suction really surprised me. Coming through the firewall it's not just not cool, it seems warmer than the cab inside temperature. I can tell the compressor clutch is kicking in when I turn it on, but I couldn't see whether it stays on. It's going back to the shop tomorrow, but in the meantime, got any ideas?

You rang? Since I'm in the 'North Mississippi Hill Country' (didn't realize until recently that the region had a name, the highest elevation in the county is 623' Thacker Mountain), it would be nice to have rip-rap available at times, also gravel for roads, without having to pay trucking from wherever. But, after hearing you guys bellyache, I'll be content rockless.

I did a lot of sweating yesterday and some chipping. I had six piles of limbs that I had trimmed off trees over the shared private road. The couple of limbs in the picture was the very smallest pile.

Farrrrrrr from an expert. But always glad to help.........or cause MASS confusion LOL.

Standard procedure in the shop for any a/c cooling issues that still have a/c clutch engagement, no blend or mode door faults, & no obvious fan or restriction problems is to get the gauges on her and evaluate the situation.

And honestly, on a super busy day, i'm just gonna go ahead and evac you and see where we're at. Especially if its coming from a DIY'er or another shop, I cannot assume everything is as it should be. And if the clutch is engaging the freon capacity can be everything on whether we are turning "right or left" down the diagnostic road.

Shes gotta get put on the gauges which most often leads to her being pulled down to see how low she is. Hopefully they just caught an o ring or something putting the condenser in.

Please do get back to me when they get back to you if you have any questions, code issues, etc.... will be glad to help.

Ever take a picture and when you look back at it you see something that makes you wonder how in the world you didn’t see that when you were taking the picture? Well, I sure did with this one. I jumped off the tractor, snapped a pic to maybe post later, hopped back on and didn’t look at the pic until about 12 hours later. That thing by the near end of the log on the ground: I didn’t notice that at all when I was out there. It’s right at the end of the culvert. At first, I thought it was the construction workers at the development across the street letting some packaging blow over to our place (not unheard of). But as I zoom in on it, it looks to me like maybe somebody lost a skid plate there. 🤔

Whatever it is, I’ll have to move it so it doesn’t clog up the culvert. If the culvert gets clogged, the water will run across the road, down the embankment and into the back side of the new houses in the development. Hmmm… maybe I’ll just leave it there a little bit longer.
Looks like a plastic garbage can lid for the tall rectangular cans.

How often do you clean the grease out of the loader pins and regrease? Mine is looking quite...messy 🤣 at least it's greased.
I grease until a bit oozes out, then wipe the overflow with a paper towel. Keeps the dirt off the grease and the grease off my clothing. Changing implements is far less frustrating when you don't come out with a grease stripe.

So I fixed the popped front tire bead, second time in 2 days. Spent 30 minutes just cleaning mud out of the bead area.
Found out the tire, or wheel, or valve stem... has a leak. It looses about 1 PSI every 5 minutes or so. I can't find any fault in the tire.... no screws or nails in it, etc.
It's getting late now, but tomorrow its more soapy water for leak detective work.
The previous owner put tubes in the front tires, and I keep them at maximum pressure like suggested her on OTT--works great!

I swear, sometimes I don't know how I get covered in grease. One time I checked my phone and there was a huge blob of grease on the screen.

One thing I learned though is to never wear white clothing or anything nice when using the tractor 🤣

You're not alone.

I get anywhere near grease, never-seize, expandable foam insulation, etc., etc., I always wear it....... ;)

Oh boy...anti seize. My nemesis. You put a little bit on a bolt and suddenly your hands are covered, tools, light switches, faucets, door handles. It just replicates.

I took it in (body shop) this morning first thing. The service guy took it back. When he came back he said the clutch, compressor, aux fan are all working, which I knew. They put it on their machine and 'everything' checks out. He runs through hot, humid, recirc, etc etc. I repeat but it didn't require full max recirc on hot days before. He says we can pull it down and recharge. I'm thinking you just did that Monday, same machine, same action, same result. He says or we can take it to a mechanic. I'm not keen on that.

So I bought a can of 123, no sealant, and a charging hose. I'm going to add maybe 2 ounces and watch it a few days and see if that helps. It cools, it's just not quite right.

Dang, that sucks. I thought the 18's were still 134a systems. I know the '19 from this morning was a 1234yf system, luckily for them they didn't need any though. Stuff is HIGH. When 1234yf was first introduced, i went from paying about $200 for a 30lb cylinder of 134a, to $850 for an 8lb cylinder of 1234. Its half that now luckily.

And beware, most shops are charging 1234 systems with 134. They are more similar than initially taught to techs.
20250717_153004.jpg

He must've thought that the system was blowing the coldest it could then to not atleast evac it and verify the freon capacity. Something that definitely should be done if the customer is either insinuating or directly telling you it's not operating as it was before.

And looking at tons of different systems on tons of different manufacturers I'm not sure how a tech can say yep that system is filled to 100% capacity and know for sure that its not possibly at least .2 .3lbs low.

So hopefully you're right and shes just slightly low. Its brutal out right now, and at least here in Hinds co. , there aint a stitch of wind out.......i'm freakin dying out here LOL.
