He is pretty competent, and has an amazing shop chocked full of great equipment. He is considered the king of the four jaw chuck. Even old hands like me still learn stuff from guys like him.

Yes I enjoy watching his videos also. I see his old Monarch in the background but what kind of lathe is he using now?

On a couple of his videos, I would swear that the head is moving and not the table???

Is that just an optical illusion, or because of the way the camera is mounted?

I noticed that movement also. It is the movement of the camera that makes it look like the head moves

He mounts his GoPro to the carriage so it will follow the tool bit. Creates a bit of an illusion. Watch him do some threading sometime. You will see what I mean.

Bob, that lathe is a Victor- don't remember the size, but I've used a smaller one (I think it was a 13" x 48") and it was a good machine.
I've been tempted to ask him how the cover over the back half of the cross slide screw got so beat up.
