Pat,

There is no other choice as to a screw in on this model. Removing the freeze plug is the only method for the block mount. And this is a bulletproof method - if done correctly there are no problems. Why do you not like this idea from the dealer?:)

You could cut the lower radiator hose and install one of these :

Last month I installed a block heater in my BX2230 in the forward positioned freeze plug after returning the hose (coolant) heater unit to the dealer.

I've been a fan of block heaters, living in NH for 35 years. I plug it in for 2 hours and it starts like it's July! So much less stress on the engine and operator!

It took 15 minutes to install and 10 of those minutes were knocking out the freeze plug, draining the coolant and cleaning the port and area with Acertone.

Applied some loc-tite and used a 1" socket to install and seat it.

Most Kubota engines do not have a provision for a screw in type Block heater thus the need for a drive in model, all of mine have those and they are fine and dandy, never had a problem with a single install or use. ;)

My BX2670-1 took a screw in type block heater but my BX23S is a freezep plug installation. Probably the same for your 2370.

It looks like your BX2370 requires 70000-00771 block heater from what I found.

BLOCK HEATERS

70000-00771 Block Heater for BX2350, BX2360, BX2370, BX24, BX25, BX25D/-1

70000-73274 Block Heater for BX2660, BX2670/-1

70000-00298 Block Heater for BX1850, BX1860, BX1870/-1

It looks like this is a freeze plug design and not the desired threaded type.

Thank you for the reply . I thought if there was a screw in type and you could avoid tampering with a freeze plug you would eliminate a possible leak in the future . I keep coming up with this answer so I guess this is the only way to go .
