3pt attachment hydraulic relief

Hello,

I have a grapple for my b2650 which uses flat faced couplers. I only use it every few weeks and typically run into issues hooking it up every time. The grapple is in a cool place but the pressure still seems to be built up so that I can't hook it to the tractor.

What is the best way to relief pressure on a detached implement without threading off off one of the flat face couplers?

The time to bleed of the pressure in the implement is when you are removing it.

Once removed, the implement needs to be supported so that it is not leaning over and generating internal pressure.

My technique is to turn off the tractor and then move the control levers through their various positions to bleed off and high pressure oil.

Thanks Dave. When the tractor is off will moving the level relief the pressure though the third function valve? Not sure how the mechanics of the 3rd function works?

If the valve for the grapple is activated with an electric switch on the joystick for the FEL, I would have the engine off but the key on.

Any valve should allow flow in and out so I think this will solve your problem.

The other thing to do is attach the 2 hoses of the grapple together.

That's a good idea Wolfman, it would keep the connections clean as well.

Yea. Great idea. Any option to relieve pressure on grapple or should I just remove ends?

Hi I've tried connecting the hydraulic lines together and had a hard time getting them apart. For me a put a rag down on a hard surface of the implement and give a hard tap of the male end of the hydraulic line and it will relieve the pressure and a bit of oil.

I have been using the flat face connectors for a while and I find even when you take the implement off and go thru the steps to relieve pressure, it still builds up and is a problem connecting again. They are great for not dripping fluid when you disconnect, but sometimes I wonder if the problems out weigh the benefits. They are expensive and I have them on my front mount units, so I will live with the difficulties, but my rear mounts are the easy connectors that drip a little, but work very easily.
