I am really struggling with this and it may be just plain anal stupidity on my part. I'm concerned the engine my late 90's B series Kubota could be damaged by today's biodiesel available at gas stations. And I've read the only difference between red dye off road diesel and gas station biodiesel is the taxes. Are fuel additives enough to replace the lubrication lost in today's diesel?
This tractor has 125 hours on it but sat virtually unused for six years. By accident I discovered the tank had an inch thick of goo on the bottom and the fuel line between tank and filter was filled with goo to. I almost done replacing everything from the tank to the fuel pump as well as the return lines. I'll be flushing the pump and injectors with 911 when I'm ready to fire it up but I have yet to buy the fuel. Is my local stations biodiesel my only convenient option and safe with the appropriate additive?
