I have a fuel leak at the fitting where the hard injector line is attached to the injector pump. All fittings at the injector pump are tight--none could be budged. According to my parts diagram, there are no gaskets/o-rings at these fittings, so must be flared nut type seal. It appears to be leaking where the 19mm fitting is attached to the pump, not where the hard line is attached to the fitting. On the parts diagram, 19 mm fittings are not shown "exploded" from the pump, suggesting that if you get a new pump these fittings will already be attached.

Before I tear into anything or start ordering parts, can anyone tell me what might be the cause/fix. Thanks

Sounds like what I have dealt with before. I ended up replacing the injection pump....that was the only fix.

Does anyone know if the injector pump can be repaired? On my parts diagram, the pump is shown as an assembly; no internals are shown.

Yes it can be repaired, but if you don't have the test equipment and proper tools your way better off sending it to have it rebuilt.

I've found one place that says they can repair it but don't know how much it will cost, but minimum charge is $300. That, plus my 2-way shipping costs will get the cost close to what an OEM Kubota pump would cost--$440.70, and it could cost more. They have to have the pump inhouse to complete the estimate. If anyone has done the replacement on their own, I would like to hear from you. I do know that timing is achieved via shims under the pump, and I plan to use the ones that are there now. I also understand that there may be a "lever" attached to a spring that will need to be detached before the pump can be removed. I just don't want to make things worse by not removing the pump correctly. Any and all help would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks

You say minimum is $300. That means it will probably cost more! Plus, you have freight two ways.

You can get one from Kubota for $440.70. That's not an estimate!!!

To me, it's a no-brainer. Buy new from Kubota and be done with it. You know it's right and if it's not it's a simple discussion...not a bunch of finger pointing.
