    BX Backhoe bucket size?

I have a BX23S and went with the 16 inch bucket. The bucket curl has the most force on the backhoe and I have not regretted it at all, even when digging stumps. I do live in a area of good loam soil, not much clay. If I were to get another bucket it would be a small trencher or even a ripper...

    hard To turn knobs.

And the cutting height knob only turns in one direction. Counter intuitive as all get out. I think it is clockwise but not near my BX at the moment so I might be wrong. The manual conveniently does not mention anything about operation, just location and function.

BX 23S new operator question on MMM

Certainly. On the FEL, notice the vertical arms that mate with the tractor frames right near the little toggle levers used to lock and unlock the FEL to the tractor. If you have a situation where the detached FEL is not level (left to right parallel) with the tractor itself, it is very easy to...

BX 23S new operator question on MMM

Yep, run it at the PTO mark on the tachometer. That way the blades will operate at the optimal speed and give you a clean cut, especially if the grass is a bit wet. I find little change in fuel consumption and operate the tractor speed at the top end of low range in tall grass in spring, then...

    3 point hitch with backhoe

You will get very familiar with removing & installing the Backhoe and the three point arms if you are going to use rear attachments on the BX23S. The standard 3 point is serviceable but pretty basic. Consider Mark Hodge's pin adjustable arms, Pat's quick hitch attachments or a full quick hitch...

    BX23S grapple controls

Well, I guess that's why they can be hooked up either way. I did try both ways before I settled on a standard for myself. Don't make me sneak over and swap the hoses on your tractor! :D:D

    BX23S grapple controls

Kubota calls the BX diverter valve a 3rd function kit, hince the naming confusion. We are all right! If your dealer charges you for dust caps, go to Amazon, plenty to choose from. The bucket curl down is left, I chose that for grapple close as it made sense to me. I asked the same question a...

    bx 80 series third valve

Two more things to think about on your new BX: The loader bucket comes in two flavors, pin on and skid steer quick coupler. The pin on gives you about 100 lbs more bucket capacity, the QC makes changing out for a grapple very quick & easy. I'm not moving lead ingots around, so I went the QC...

    bx 80 series third valve

Isn't Land Pride part of Kubota now anyway? I can't give info/opinion on the LP kit as I haven't seen one, but the Kubota kit fits perfectly, the control buttons are designed and fit in like they were factory built. The wiring for the stick diverter button is inside the stick so no exposed...

    BX ROPS Options

I have a 23S with the wide rops. If you need pictures of the attach point on the tractor I can take some and post them for comparison. It is dark here, so it will have to be tomorrow mid day before I can post them. 23S and 2380 are the same basic tractor so one could assume either should fit.

    BX 23S Engine Block Heater

According to a google search, 25mm, 400 watts or 3 1/3 amps draw at 120 volts. As a general guide, I've found everything on the base tractor is metric, most attachments are SAE. Keeps you guessing when you do a general look over for loose fittings!

    Bx23s owners?

Can't give an opinion on the BXpanded thumb as I bought the Kubota one. It came pre installed, included in the deal price wise, works fine for a mechanical thumb. They look very similar in operation but maybe a BXpanded thumb user can chime in for you. To be honest, now that I have a grapple I...

BX25D-1 Grass Catcher attachment made easy?

Don't know if the grass catcher requires a top link or directly connects to the top fitting on your tractor. If it uses a top link rod, consider a Pat's lower arm set. It adds 3 to 4 inches to your lower arms so it may require a longer top link rod to sit level. Replace your turnbuckles with a...

    New Kubota owner

Welcome to the BX23S club neighbor! Just over a year on mine and closing in on 100 hours. The shipping labels on my backhoe bucket have worn off digging stumps & blackberry roots. Just got a grapple this past spring, they are great for pulling blackberry vines. What part of WA? I'm in Vancouver.

    Stabilworks did it again

And another two thumbs up for the Hodge Stabilizers. After patiently waiting my turn on the build list I happily took off the turnbuckles and bolted the new pin/slide stabilizers on. Very well made, very robust, easy to use. A great upgrade to my BX. Thank you Mr. Hodge!

    BX2370 vs BX23s

The 23S seat is on a pull up and swivel base so you can reverse it for backhoe operation. That may be the difference you noticed. My land is pretty flat so I have not experienced the uneasy feeling some have noticed, but there is a market for spacers and rear tire filling so this must be an...

    Rear end temp

Get one of those harbor freight laser thermometers and point it at your rear end. Let us know what it reads. If it is 98.6 you pointed it at the wrong rear end! :p

    Good Buy

How long has the second owner had it? How many hours did they put on it? Why are they selling? Just like kicking tires on a used car, seller motivation can tell you things. Look at the loader and backhoe pins. Greasy is good, dry is bad. Have fun!

    Post hole auger size

I run a 9 inch bit on my 17 pto hp BX with no problem in loamy soil with potato sized random rocks. Just clear your hole often and getting your sonotube in should be no problem. I bet a 12 inch would be OK with your machine. Any good farm store should have or be able to get you any size bit you...

    Got the BX23S delivered today

Howdy from across the hill and up the road a bit. Congrats on your new tractor! For me getting the BX23S was a steep learning curve as it was my first tractor, so much to learn. If I may, some advice on the removal and installation of the FEL and BH. There are videos on youtube to look at and...
