    Some sheep hugger bearded me

Okay, folks (and skeets). I got called out for unexcused absence so here's the confirmation, in the words of Samuel Clemens (the guy who talked me into taking the cruise with Noah refers to him as Mark Twain) "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated." No, I haven't been...

    A response to spam

Do you know about TED? If not, here's my take on it: no matter how weird or far-out your philosophy is, you can find experts on TED who reinforce your beliefs and make you feel smarter than you are. So I got a suggestion on YouTube: This is what happens when you reply to spam email and it's on...

Folks unhappy with Tier IV motors may want to consider...

Now, I'm not recommending this, I'm just saying you may want to consider swapping out your motor for a used Audi, Porsche, or VW diesel. Well, look what some clever engineers have figured out: V6 Porsche, Audi, and VW vehicles have defeat device

    B6100 owners, identify mystery wire

I found a loose wire near the radiator of my B6100, looks like a connector was pulled off the end of the wire. It's painted, so I can't see the color code but it's pretty long -- looks like it would be the headlight wire... but no current when the headlight switch is engaged. It comes out of the...

Starter solenoid on B6100 - how to disassemble?

I'm trying to check the contacts in the solenoid of my B6100 while I have the starter on the bench. I've taken the screws off the cap and pried it off the body to the point that it's no longer "glued on" (you know how they get welded by corrosion and paint). I can pull it away from the body...

    Proper way to bench-test starter?

My procedure for testing starter is: 1) Clamp or fastern to bench; 2) Clamp negative battery cable to frame of starter; 3) Run jumper to starter terminal; 4) Touch positive battery cable to solenoid post; 5) Smile when solenoid engages and starter spins. What am I missing? Thanks!

Finally realized Svc Dpt Vic is pulling my leg: 850CCA?!!

Read the Battery Basics article and went looking for Service Dept Vic's recommendation: an 850CCA battery. <sigh> No doubt somebody around here stocks a 51R 850CCA battery, but even NAPA doesn't, and I couldn't find one more powerful than 500CA/400CCA. I might have "settled" for the 500CA...

    Getting ROPS B6000E

chyduke, have you looked into getting the ROPS from Kubota? I understand that there is an incentive subsidy for Kubotas that have never had a ROPS installed, and results in a quite attractive price.

    Can't crank B6100

I ran the tractor for about 20 minutes, shut down very briefly, and it wouldn't turn over, even on decompression. Battery fully charged; specific gravity of all cells within .2 of 13.00. No bad cable/bad connections were found, but there have been several orphan wires from the day I received...

B6100 - how to remove left side cover

I din' want to do it, but I'm forced to work on my B6100D main wiring (everything behind the dashboard). Trying to get at the starter, I find that the left side cover is pinched between the steering knuckle and the oil filter. How does that cover come off without removing the oil filter? (The...

Do you have specs on B219 lines and/or hoses?

I'm getting ready for a mod to my B219 FEL, and I don't have a helper to get accurate measurements of the hydraulic lines, and to make a bad situation worse, my 3/4" tape measures and my 5/8" tape measure are so stiff that my measurements are only approximations. Do you have the dimensions of...

    Need hydraulics tutorial

I'm getting ready to add some functionality to my {B6100} tractor's hydraulics. It has a FEL and I plan to add a 3rd function to that. I will need to keep the lift and curl, and expect to use the 3rd function -- let's call it squeeze, to distinguish them -- primarily with lift so I can envision...

    Advice on front-end grapple

It seems this should be in 'Customization' but that one is for what you've already done, not for what you are asking how to do, so... I have a need (urgent) for a grapple, and I'm having difficulty finding equipment to grab brush with my B6100 B219FEL for less than about 2000 bucks. I'm...

    Tiny-Tach install on B6100

Well, Tomcat tipped me over the edge, and I diddit. A little side note: I read on the Website that there are two choices, and they are only a few thousandths different in size. "Everybody" said that Kubotas use the 6mm fuel line, but I thought mine looked awful 'fat' to be 6mm (years of tool &...

    Would you buy a GR2100?

I can't avoid it any longer; I'm going to have to get a lawn mower. I hate to sound like a whiner, but I've got arthritis in my knees and hands, and sciatica that make chasing a lawn mower difficult and dangerous -- I need to move up to a rider. However, with the rough surface and steep slope...

    Mystery bolts on B6100 fender

My parts diagram shows the fenders having an extension, "FENDER, extension, {RH}/{LH}", and the handles, "BALUSTRADE, {RH}/{LH}" bolted to it. The extension is fastened to the fender with bolts along the outer rim of the fender. My fenders have bolts along the edge of the fender (2 more than...

Need advice to move 1-1/2 ton pallet of rocks

I got delivery of a little more than one and one-half tons of rock and it's in a horribly inconvenient spot. I'm faced with hand-loading it into my utility trailer and pulling it around to the back with my B6100D. Before I do, it occurred to me that wiser heads might have some better ways. I...

Need advice on B6100 inside-out wheels & hubs

    1) Hubs are mounted facing in, at the differential; 2) Hubs have no pins, held only by compression screw; 3) Wheels are mounted facing in; 4) Valve stems are on inside; 5) Ag tires are oriented correctly. I must admit I had a clue that I noticed the hubs were 'wrong' after seeing an image...

    WTB B219 docs

I'm looking for quality operation and parts manuals for the B219. I've tried all the links I can find (only parts) and all of them have one thing in common: horrible reproduction and poor to useless illustrations. It doesn't have to be as good as the doco I got from Messy-icks (Kubota original...
