I am sure at some point you will be able to retire and enjoy life and do what you want when you want. I was fortunate enough to retire 2 years ago after 36 years in the operating engineers at the age of 57. Thats when I bought my B2650 to work on my property, taught my self how to weld to be able to do fab projects for my tractor and impliments, how to paint to paint my projects, and just enjoy life everyday. I have to put my wife on the calendar when she wants to do something because I am busy every day!! The other part is to keep the wife working so I have play money!! HAHA. By the way I always enjoy your post.

Longest for me in one place was 9 years. Since then i move on evey year or so. Until 2 years ago, when i chose to work on cars at home. Been a good time for most of it. Bills getting paid and i have a standing excuse to buy tools. Which i can write off.....

22 years can slip by pretty quick, i find as i get older the days seem to be flying by.hope you are still enjoying your days at work.

I made 36 years & 11 days in a company known for layoffs & "restructuring".
(anything to squeeze more dollars for the CEO pockets)
Survived 31 layoffs & several horrible bosses, but also worked for & with some of the best & brightest minds on the planet.

My mom has retired after 34 years of hard work and wants to move somewhere with a better climate and finally to enjoy the rest. Do you have any stories about migration to Spain being a pensioner? We are considering buing a little studio in Costa Brava, looks like we can find something for $70-80K https://tranio.com/spain/costa_brava/ But I feel like it is a bit risky to change your mode of life at 50+, don't you? so cardinally at least!

I retired from my first career after serving for more than 22 years. Then I went to work as a temp in a software company. That became a career that lasted another 21 years. Now that I am retired again, I can't seem to find enough time in a day to finish all of my home chores. I wonder how everything around the property got done before I retired. Must have been elves.

A friend has worked 30 plus years, has retirement in his sights, right after
He gets knee and hip replaced. Hopefully it improves his mobility..we got a lot of fish to catch.
