My Father died about 7 years ago, he loved wood working and had a good collection of saws and a couple of lathes. I finally set me up a little wood working shop and moved most of his stuff to my house. In the process of moving the stuff, my mother ask me if I knew how to run that lathe, I told her I would figure it out. Later that week I got a set of tires I ordered off of ebay, in one of those tires was a Wood Lathe Set Up and Operating Instruction Manual. Figure that one out.

Working on a lathe is a hellva lot of fun!!!
Lamps, legs, bowls......if it can be turned - a lathe can do it!

Always work ABOVE the centerline! Sharp tools make work a lot easier too!;):)

WOW! That is something!
I guess it is meant to be.
You will have to make your Mom a nice table with Queen Ann legs.

I did not have a lathe so I found a design to cut and carve out legs.
Took me 8 hours each x 12 for three tables.

Maybe tou can make a hood ornament.
