My L3830 will start but not continue running. tried bleeding the air, replacing the fuel and filter, nothing.
I agree, I have however checked (and tried to start without primary then secondary filters), no improvement. I have changed the fuel filter and have plenty of flow in and out of the filter. I have some fuel being returned through the injector return.Have you checked your air filter lately? Sounds like it's not flowing enough of something. When it runs it starts starving itself, then after it dies it takes a bit for that pressure difference to equalize.
You may be on to something, I can't get the engine to fire after the glow plug sequence is complete. I will continue when the sun returns.I wonder if there's some sort of grounding issue in that solenoid that only shows up in it's non-energized state.
Turn the key to run without starting it and let the glow plugs do their thing. Then try it after the glow plug light/solenoid turns off. If your suspicions are right then it shouldn't be able to start at all, I wouldn't think...
