Not patent -- copyright. Patents apply to a physical invention and expire after 20 years. Copyright applies to artistic works and apply for much much longer periods (eg: 75 years after the creator's death). The Canadian military (more accurately, the "Crown") has a copyright on their camo design too. I believe the US military does not, because US law places all government works in the public domain. So feel free to paint your quad like a US tank, but not a Canadian one. :D

Camo is only relatively expensive because rednecks are cheap but are somewhat willing to pay for it. If they weren't cheap you'd be able to buy Prada and Gucci styled UTVs and Elon Musk would make one all electric model with autopilot.

That’s exactly what I want to replace my Kawasaki Mule Pro MX EPS (green but not camo), a Prada/Gucci styled electric ATV with autopilot. 😂🤣
