The spec's for both of these engines are quite similar. I'm wondering if there is a prevailing opinion on which one might be better than the other in an excavator? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Thanks, that's another way of looking at it for sure. If the cost of each is similar and one performs better then it would likely move the most dirt at the lowest operating cost. Just need to figure out which one that is.The question you really want to be asking is what will let you move the most dirt at the lowest operating cost
More power / more torque.Better how? What would be the consideration / criteria to say which is ‘better’? At a glance one is better at running on just 3 cylinders than the other.![]()
Mike, thanks for your input. On paper its seems a bit better than the 4 cylinder V1505The D1703-M-DI-EB4 is a fantastic engine that powers the Kubota L2501 Tractor. It offers really good torque and exceptional fuel economy. However, I'm not familiar with the V1505 so sadly, I have no idea which engine would be better for your application.
