I just ordered 1.5" wheel spacers through Kubota so I can install my chains and was wondering what is the safest place to jack up each side to enable installing the spacers.

I have jack stands but not sure if I have enough room to jack up the tractor inside the wheel on the axle AND place the jack stand there.

There is a linkage on the rear left from operators position so I certainly want to stay clear of that.

Any suggestions/options would be greatly appreciated.

I take it the torque specs for both the wheel nuts and the spacers bolts are available in the instructions.

Thanks in advance,

Keith

Keith,
I'd block the front wheels in front and in back, then jack up the tractor by
using the center section of the rear end ( assuming you have a floor jack on
wheels ) and put your jack stands under the rear axle as far out on the axle
housing as you can for the most stability the same as you probably do with a
car ( assuming that's why you have jack stands already ;) ) then let the jack
down on the stands enough to take the pressure off the jack itself.

Keep in mind that it's best to break the lug nuts loose before jacking it up to
remove the tires wheel combo so you can install the spacers. Once done if
you don't have an impact wrench to install let down and then torque the wheel
nuts to make sure that they're tight. Care must be taken to torque those wheel
adapter nuts before the wheels go back on too of course.

When in doubt about blocking something up always do what you've just done
to avoid disaster. A good friend well experienced tire guy just had a front end
loader come down on him while jacking it up and blocking with appropriate
heavy wooden blocks and he was dam lucky he still had enough room left and
had turned just about flat to not take the brunt of the impact that probably would have killed him. He used the proper protocol as he always does but as
you know shit happens and things change quickly in these situations. That's
exactly why you never trust the tractor hydraulics or a jack when lifting
anything.

Thanks tiredguy, great advice there.

Hopefully the spacers will be here Monday, they told me this weekend so any day now.

Can't wait to get the chains on but from the looks of things won't be needing them for anymore snow but that may be wishful thinking lol

Thanks again

Keith
