I'm posting this for a friend who owns a B7500. He says the rear wheel hub pin on each side keeps breaking allowing the rear wheels to move freely in and out. He sent me some pics which looks like a bolt is used instead of the actual part (63733-17270). Could the use of the bolt instead of the actual part be the problem? Any suggestions/comments are appreciated. Wheel Hub Pin 1.jpg Wheel Hub Pin 2.jpg

If he's grabbing any available Grade 2 bolt off the shelf then probably the cause. Spend the $$ and get the right part. Make sure the larger bolt behind it is torqued properly and not worn, it "clamps" onto the shaft.

The pin is just an alignment and safety pin, NOT for retention. (yellow)
The actual clamp (retention) is done by the bolt and cotters clamping to the axle.(green)

Put a pin in the hole to get the desired offset then tighten the big bolt to lock the axle in place.

Is it possible he doesn't have those "cotters" installed? (wedge shaped parts in red circles below)

And/or doesn't have the bolt that holds them properly torqued? On my B7500 I had to do a tap/tighten/tap/tighten on those bolts to make the hub stop moving and making noise. I can't find it right now but a long time ago another poster had a loose bolt / hub and described the noise very appropriately as "ERRNT ERRNT ERRNT ERRNT" or something like that as the tractor was driven.
