Left Front wheel clicking loudly about every 180 degrees of rotation…just started. Anyone have an idea on what this could be? Also to note, that the top of the left wheel is noticeably tilted outboard, whereas the right wheel seems plumb. Any help is appreciated!

simple stuff first:

- are all lug nuts on and tights?
- lift wheel off ground, place hands 12 and 6 and rock back and forth, rotate a bit and repeat, is there excess play indicating worn or broken wheel bearings?
- take wheel off and make sure back of wheel and hub is clean, no rocks between mating surfaces, studs and bolts/nuts in good shape?

if non of the above then time to start thinking about damaged cv, etc...

OK thanks MapleLeaf. Will check this and report back. I presume I’d do this by jacking up one side…if I loader-lift the front end it’ll just pivot over the axle tube center point, and maybe skew my findings from the other wheel moving..

OK.. Lug nuts are good and tight. I did notice some mild clicking / play in the tie rod bushing on the outboard side. Nothing else caught my attention...My fear is that the casting is worn (casting that the tie rod stud goes through).

1. Any advice on how to get back to what I would assume is ideal: 0% play?
2. Are guys going after market tie rod ends with Zerks? Factory isn’t grease-able
3. Brand suggestions? If Kubota OEM, no doubt I’ll get turned upside down on the deal :)

Thanks a bunch!

I would repair the the tie rod/s first, then see where you are at.

Trying to repair/fix multiple things at one time can be difficult/costly. (unless they are “obviously broken”)

Lastly, I have never heard of an “acceptable” amount of play in a tie rod end. (at least in the automotive world)

If you can see or feel the play, I would replace them.

And call me crazy, but I replace them in pairs…..(as I do with headlight bulbs and brake lights….but thats just me 🤷‍♂️ )

Good luck sir….

Does it have 2 piece rims? If so did you check the bolts holding the 2 pieces together, not just the lug nuts? Also, on the 2 piece rims, it is Not uncommon for the hoop that the bolt goes through on the outer part of the rim to break away from the rim or crack the weld.
