I really need some insight.... I currently have a 2920, FEL, 60" MMM with a little over 200 hours. I use her to primarily mow about 2-3 acres, plow snow from a 1300' gravel driveway about 4-6 times per year, and move some gravel, mulch etc around.

Well, it's paid off and I now want a cab.... I looked a Curtis Cab, but I'm really not looking for a soft-side, and I would need to add heat. So I'm looking a at factory cab and this is where the 2650 has come into my sights. I know I'm loosing a few HP, but I don't think that will make a big difference.

So... I must admit I do like the bells and whistles of the factory cab. But am I letting my wants cloud up the decision making process. Should I be happy with my 2920, since it is serving me well or let my want for a cab replace it. If so, is the 2650 the answer, could it be more tractor than I need, or would you suggest something else.

Really appreciate your thoughts before I pull the trigger on a new tractor...

Mitch,

I got to tell you - can you buy it without placing the family in a bind? Then buy it !:)

I would NOT trade the old in - sell it outright - you will come out ahead.

If you want a "nice" cab model - get it!!!! The small HP difference will not be a problem and the one time it might be, you will come the conclusion that the cab is better than NOT having the cab!

I have been looking for a FEL/BH combo for about 7 years......bought my BX 2 years ago - wish I had it soooner !!!

Never second guess yourself - that cab is gonna be so nice you might want to sleep in it !!!!

take pictures of your new ride!:)

I just got the 2650, FEL, 60" Belly Mower, filled R-4 tires. $19,900. You can get it for 19,400 if it is a cash deal. Great tractor plenty of power. I have seen the 2620, 2650, and the new 2601 all side by side. The 2650 is definitely quite a bit bigger. So it might be a comfort level. Go in and check them out. The 2601 is new, I really liked the Bar tires that were available for it but for the $800 price difference the 2650 was the way to go for me. The 2620 is the old design and the 2601 is its replacement. I had heard that the 2650 engine was the same as the 2920 but I have not verified that. Really can't go wrong either way.

I originally was going to go with the 3350. Reading the reviews I decided to go with the 2650. When the head mechanic delivered it to my house he went over the tractor with me. He said they were still having problems with the 3350, especially in the winter. The DPF isn't getting hot enough. So the EPA has really screwed up the 30hp market.

Piper,
Thanks for the input, a few questions, did you get the ROPS or Cab, I'm guessing by the price it was the ROPS. Did you have a tractor before? If so how does the 2650 compare to it? You mentioned that the 2650 was quite a bit bigger than the 2620 which is similar to the 2920 I now have. That is one of my concerns especially since it will have the factory cab.

BTW, I was also told the engine in the 2650 is the same as the 2920, just has the HP reduced.

Yeah ROPS. I had a deal for the same set up in the 3350 cab for $30,441. But then when I wanted the 2250 they hit me hard at just over 28k. I decided to go with the open station at that point and save 9k. It just didn't add up to me. I had an older New Holland 30 but had a finish mower. Belly is way better.
