Please forgive my ignorance. I checked throughout the operators and service manual and can't find anything. What is the pigtail that exits the left rear pillar trim? Sorry for the poor photo!

Its hard to tell from the picture but it appears to be the connection for the optional rear window defogger kit (L8340).

The colors of the wires will tell you what it does!

Here's a better picture from the brochure where I circled the harness. Yes I'll look at the wires next time I see the tractor, but that may not be for a few weeks unfortunately.

I am assuming this is a tractor you are looking to or have purchased.

Just a heads up, you will find a few wiring plugs around the tractor that are used for optional accessories that can be added. Depending on how your tractor is delivered these plugs will either be in use or just laying there doing nothing.

Manufactures typically only produce one wiring harness per model family that will have plugs and outlets for different options that may or may not be available for the specific model you are buying.

Thanks for the replies, I was hoping someone with a Grand L had the same question. I think it may be for the "Patrol Lamp" based on (what I think are the) wire colors, but I can't verify. Hoping to figure it out and find a mating connector if that's what it is for.

I believe it is an additional key on power source for a display. (Baler controller/user added) The heated glass power is in the headliner. There are two more under the right control panel. These get used for air ride seat, or 3rd function..

My L4310 has the same connector, From everything I can tell it is what they call a spare power source, but I can find no documentation that states that is a fact.

The connector with one Yellow and one Black wire is a Key switch controlled 20 amp fused aux powerpoint. The mating connector is available at most any auto parts store.

I have the same tractor but a Limited Edition, and always assumed it was for the optional rear window defroster. I had the cap off of my cab yesterday installing front work lights. If I had seen this post earlier, I could have traced those wires down.

That’s a laugh! I tried 6 local auto parts stores plus an electrical supplier, Tractor Supply and the KUBOTA dealer. Can’t find that plug’s mate anywhere. Figured I’d just de-pin it and re-pin in another connector where I have both sides, but can’t get the pins to release! Very frustrating!

Update: unlike a normal setup where the locking tang is part of the metal contact pin, this dumb plug has the locking tabs as part of the plastic connector block, so putting the Kubota pins into a standard connector won’t work. Back to square one, I need the mate or I’ll have to cut into the wiring and re-do it. That would be a lot easier if they had bothered to provide a service loop so I could work outside the tractor, instead of inside standing on my head!

If the plug you're working with is the type with one blade perpendicular to the other one, it'll be this-

Housing
TE Connectivity 172129-1

Terminals
TE Connectivity 170340-1

so putting the Kubota pins into a standard connector won’t work.
You do realize that the wire, pins, and connectors are not something manufactured by Kubota.
They are common components used all across the industry. We pick them up at NAPA or Orileys, they are nothing special.

Maybe check the wire color code and splice into those two wires further back in the harness where it’s more convenient to get to and then put any plug that you like on it and terminate to suit.
