I keep finding equipment I want to add, and they seem to be getting heavier. Tactordata.com lists the B7100 rear lift at 1036 lbs. Can it really lift that much, assuming you have enough front ballast for stability?

I started with the Woods RM48 finishing mower that weights 300 lbs. I am working on a Ford 515 6 foot cycle bar mower that weights 480 lbs (which is 180 lbs beyond what Kubota recommends). In the future I want to add a PTO driven chipper. It will weight 560 lbs. Will I be able to lift it?

For statbility, I have added weight to the B7100. Tractordata.com lists the weight of the tractor at 1080 lbs. The B219 FEL probably weights 300-400 lbs. I have added fluid to the tires, which based on:

http://www.ballaststar.com/charts.php?chart=chart-hydro-garden.txt

has added 250 lbs to the rear tires and 80 lbs to the front. So the Tractor is probably weighting about 2000 lbs with me on it. Stability wise, I am not having any trouble with the 480 lb sickle bar mower. I am wondering if the 560 lb chipper/shreader is going to run me over the limit? What is the most anyone has lifted with the rear of a B7100?

I bought a 4672 Kubota BH for my 7100. This unit weight was around 1000# and was way to much for my tractor. I had a fel, completely fluid fill front tires and had weights hanging on the front frame rails. It was all but imposible to drive up a hill no matter what the grade was. Before this BH I could use a small tilt bed trailer to haul it. When I picked it up at the dealer I tried to pull on the trailer and even placing the tires on the front rail it still didn't have enough weigh to tilt it. The only way to install the BH was by lifting it with the stabilizers. The 3pt would not pick up the weight. You may be okay with the chipper but I don't think I would go any heavier. Look back at the data on the lift and see if it says 1036# @ lift point or @ 24". That I know of nothing was wrong with my 7100 and there was no way it would lift that kind of weight.

FYI, this was the correct BH listed for a 7100.

Bulldog, I understand what you are saying. It is hard to believe Kubota would put that big of a BH on a B7100. I plan to get the chipper tomorrow, so I will know then!

Thanks for the info,

John

I would hate for you to end up in the place I was. The day I picked mine up I was going from the dealer to a small digging job. After getting there I found it was on a slight hill side and of course the work was at the bottom. Getting down there was no problem but it was so bad I couldn't get turned around so I could back out. Had to end up getting the guy I was working for to ride in the bucket just so I could move around.

It really sucked to spend 6K on a BH trying to make it easier on myself and end up making my little tractor useless. Even after adding weight it was just to dangerous to use it on any type of hill.

That was a tough situation. You could have offered to let him ride the tractor and you in the bucket. LOL. What did you end up doing with the BH?

I used it on flat ground as much as I could for a couple of years. I ended up trading the B in and got the L 3000 I have now. I the bought the kit for the BH to swap it over to fit on a L series tractor. Bottom line, I still have the BH and use it around here when it's needed.

The B7100 handled the 600 lb Chipper without any problems. I need to sharpen the blades, but other wise the stability of the tractor was good up and down hill, and the power to run the PTO was good.

It will depend on which brand baler is being used and the condition and type of grass. A good average for a 4x5 roll is around 800 - 900 lbs.
