Thought i had a L1501DT, but i just found some numbers stamped on the right side of the PTO case that says L1500DT-16415. Does anyone have a clue what the numbers after the dash are.And how do i tell what year it is.Thanks Keith.

Well its an L1500DT. Last part is serial number, from what i inderstand there is no documentation for defining what year it was made. Model number is all you need when searching for parts. Some guys have a little info regarding years. Maybe one of them will chime in.

The only real difference between them is the frontaxle. You'll never now what year it is made because its a grey tractor. You can look to a l185dt (similar to l1500) what year these tractors are made, in these years were also the grey tractors built

i will say to you that if you have rear droped axles and front drive under the engine is definetly 1501, same as an l185dt.
the l175dt and the l1500dt uses diferent style axles at front and the rear, it also has deferent fenders, etc...
l1500dt version.

while the l1501dt (l185dt) uses this style..

as for the engine is almost the same..
with the 1500 to have the z750 and the 1501 to use the z751.

the age now is not so accurate because noone has info for them.

It's odd sounding when you come from a mind set of the vehicle world and many others... Kubota started off not caring to record date indicators into their serial numbers...... and it has remained that way for decades. Same in the Grey Market

It is just a case of it is what it is Im sure their was some madness to their method.. it just a madness that escapes us
