Between yours and @beckmurpf's pictures I wish I had more open land and less woods. Very nice places - both.Finished the final mowing of the season, I stepped over into my neighbor's field to take a wider view picture, mines a bit greener!

LOL…Thanks…the price was right but it’s just about shot…the thermometer is the only thing that was bought new…everything else was repurposed, including the fasteners, the grass, leaves, wood chips, and chicken poop
.I have been putting off a couple deck projects, and I plan to repurpose the current decking to innovate the deteriorating pallets and have much fewer open slats.

This weekend I attacked the neighbors overgrown wood line to get access to the back of the pasture fence. Wow. What a mess. Dead trees, wrapped up in vines, multiflora rose, autumn olive, poison ivy etc etc. Nasty stuff. I don't know how many dump truck loads I hauled off but it had to have been at least a dozen.
I got most of it done with only about 30' feet of really nasty stuff left to do. Access was granted by the neighboring property, thankfully.
I didn't get an actual start photo...just use your imagination.

Did that same exact thing a few weeks ago. Also, Nothing like swinging the backpack blower on your back without the gas cap on. 5 minutes later “why are my pants wet and why does it smell like gas”Well with winter coming up I figured I’d oil up my bucket to keep the snow from sticking and rust from forming

Don’t get distracted while filling fluids, always be sure to put the bar oil cap back on before righting your saw….

Ever looked at alternatives for digging a couple of shallow parallel trenches ? I stopped for a break from moving bricks. When I took off again I left the ballast box on the 3 point hitch down - oops. I even thought "it's struggling up this slope a bit more than usual, better engage 4WD"....idiot.
....should I build a box blade, a grader blade or a land plane to fix it ?

If I didn’t have something to fix that with, I’d take a pallet that isn’t exactly pristine, chain it up behind the tractor with some weight on it, and use it as a wooden land plane. Wouldn’t last long term, but it would fix that with a pass or two.

Thanks - I was sort of joking. I might make these one day, but for now, I have some steel mesh with a lump of railway iron tied to it. I'll drag it over a few times.

Some of my ground is uneven ... Depending on the job, it's nice to have two different sizes tractors ...
The usual complaint of the little SCUT of not being able to lift very high ... Means it can drop quite a ways into the creek!

You could load a pallet up with some of your bricks and drag it around. Should work fine.

None of the above, I think you need make some kind of warning light to tell you the 3pt is down
Maybe replace the plastic drain plug with a Fumoto that fits your threads (likely not the one below)?

Pushed some leaves and then brush piles (no pics) still left from an ice storm last February. I've been ignoring the brush piles because they were not really in the way of anything but headed into Winter, I thought no way do I want this cleanup to not be finished after a year has passed.
For the leaves, I use a Scag 48" paired with an older Agri-Fab vac and chop buggy. It had an old Briggs on it when I bought it used. It was using oil so I replaced it with a Predator 312 and it does a great job. The RPMs and chute discharge volume synch really well between the Scag and the Predator engine.
I previously tried using the Agri-Fab with a John Deere LT and the mower RPMs (or chute discharge volume) were mismatched resulting in leaves blowing out from under the mower deck. This combo works great. Amazing how many leaves can be packed into one load in that buggy.

Hmmm... nothing wrong with woods in my humble opinion. I love walking through the woods in summer. But if you want to change that there is a fine solution available for your problem: a chain saw

This is a little area where my father used to have a garden. We mow it about 4” a couple times a year, which keeps it in grass and not much else. Hadn’t planned to mow it again until next summer, but it’s close to our house and wife wanted it mowed so…
Before. Not bad IMO.
Bush hog was already in the tractor, just had to change the tail wheel height as it was set at 8”.
After.
Then took out the silt fence a gas line contractor put in the edge of one of the fields by the road. It’s up hill from where they disturbed the soil, it’s beyond the utility right of way, I have no idea what purpose it serves or why they thought it appropriate to put it outside the right of way, and they couldn’t explain it. It had been there a few months. Took it out today.
Tractor makes pulling T posts easy. I have one of those T post puller plate things. It’s pretty handy if you’re pulling a bunch of posts. When I looked at the picture, I noticed I put the post in the wrong hole for that particular post. It worked anyway but I’m aware that’s not how it’s supposed to be used.
Set the bush hog back to 8” and ran over the strip of unmowed stuff where the fence used to be. All done.

I set my sawmill up at our County Civic Center for tomorrow's county wide High School Career Day.
The 5600 did a good job unloading the three fresh felled Southern Yellow Pine logs.
Properly staged.
And the first one loaded onto the sawmill for tomorrow's sawing demonstration.
