GrumpyFarmer, with your ability to embellish the situation are you a politician in you everyday job?
Couple things:

0. I hope I didn’t upset you.

1. I don’t think ‘politician’ and ‘job’ really go together.

2. I am not sure your definition of politician, but I am not a liar or a thief, or it’s just a backhanded complement. (I hope not suggesting the first too…if so that is a data point for sure)

In all honesty I am more of a faith healer…but when I retire I might go back to dancing for cash. 🤷‍♂️

That's a bummer. What happened - the wind ?? New grapple did a good job folding it up.....

gg
The wind got it. Pushed the whole side in and the whole side was toast.

The grapple has been around for 4-5 years now. Just the first time I used it on the 5460.

Digging some petrified potatoes today this morning…some even have some battle scars and orange war paint🤔. Still nothing like turning the B in to a massage chair. 😉
Your chosen variety of potatoes reminded me of the classic children’s story, “Stone Soup”, which is somewhat based on the real traditional use of your type “potatoes” for flavoring. Example. Just be sure to remove the super hard potatoes before serving.

I spent some time yesterday afternoon making some passes on the lower driveway with the land leveler behind the M6060 in preparation for plowing snow this winter.

dug a trench for an electric line to the back of our arena where im storing the tractor for winter and needing a block heater outlet. bh92 is a beast. might be a little deeper than needed but it was fun.
Barely a rock to be seen ... must be nice. 😂

Well with winter coming up I figured I’d oil up my bucket to keep the snow from sticking and rust from forming

Don’t get distracted while filling fluids, always be sure to put the bar oil cap back on before righting your saw….🤦‍♂️

Better in your bucket than running down your leg - don't ask how I know. Since then I keep telling myself when ever I fill anything "put on both caps before you move your feet".

Picked up this little tobacco field beside the public road in land swap deal with a developer a couple years ago. It hadn’t been mowed or cultivated for probably 3 or 4 years before that, so 5 or 6 total years of whatever grew there.

The contractor that installed a gas line just past the field side of the bottom of the ditch earlier this year also installed a silt fence just past the ditch on the field side. Out of curiosity, asked them why they were installing a silt fence uphill from where they were tearing up the ground. They didn’t know; just something DOT required. They also said they’d come back and remove it in six months. Got a good laugh out of that joke. I’ll tear it out before spring. Should be a more pleasant job with the field mowed.

Got a late start and ran out of daylight. This weekend’s “fall back an hour” has the sun going down pretty early. Have another small field to do when this one is finished.

New houses popping up across the street like mushrooms after a three day rain. $450k to $750k. 30’ apart. Progress…🫤

Oh boy ... I laugh at your phrasing rather than the event itself. 😂 Nice job on getting it all packed up in a neat bundle.
I was in a bit of a mood... i was hoping it would last the winter before falling apart. Looking at something more robust next time but I think it's going to be a 2026 project.

I don't know what your snow loads are up in PEI but around here in NE VT only the very robust units survive the heavy wet storms or rain on top of existing dry snow.
