Got the berries all cut this afternoon. Supposed to have some evening pickers come through 7ish. Not normal, but great family friends. I told them they better soak up with the strongest deet they got. Not the time you wanna be out there rummaging the rows. You will most definitely be eaten alive.

There are several rows the tractor can't go down right now. So I decided to jump on the cub cadet and cut some to see where and what bushes are still full. Its atleast 100 out, plus the greatest of all humidity, and ZERO wind. 10 minutes of that I said NOPE, flagged my oldest over for a hand off. It was tractor time in the a/c for me.

Kinda forgot about the back forty TWO WEEKS in a row now.... Couple more weeks i could've bailed it LOL

Cutting on the pond dam, had to get my inclinometer out..... for safety

20250711_143233.jpg

Gettin back to normal. Took a while, Super thick. Had her topped out about 1.8mph. Normally I can get into the 3.0s although the bumps with the loader on can be impressively violent.

20250711_152905.jpg

Time to head on out to the road........cut the friggin garbage!

20250711_154455.jpg

Wasn't too bad. Worthless humans must've been stayin inside the past couple weeks. Its SUPER hot out. Big red is trying like hell to push through. Good thing for dark tint.

I respectively decline your invitation😆

Did you get your loader fixed yet?
I'm still a couple more weeks away from letting her go.

But boy did it make one heck of an unhappy pop when I had to remove it this afternoon to cut through the berries.

And the left arm slipped last week when I was putting it back on and damn near got my quarter glass. Heard it smack the glass and everything.

Check out this orange scratch it left. Not even sure how you get that lucky.

Nothing too interesting. Backed the tractor out of the shed to access an overhead storage rack so I could slide a partial sheet of drywall up on it. That guarantees I'll never need a part sheet of drywall. Had I gotten rid of it, I'd need a piece next week:)

Definitely a pucker moment. It's amazing what either breaks or doesn't break glass.

Again I didn't get a picture of the Kubota in action but I used the B6000 with the pallet forks to move a big tarp to our tent garage to attempt a replacement cover that lasts more than 3 years.
I got it at a garage sale for $100 and it's way heavier than the standard cover and not $1500 like the upgraded one.
I made a frame of 2x6's around the base and wrapped the tarp between two of them in an S shape and then anchored the boards to the 3ft grain bin anchors I had screwed into the ground previously.

I picked up a Rankin 22-60 rear blade. I had made my peace that I wasn't going to find a blade that had the offset and tilt, but when I got to the tractor store it turns out I was confused and they had the 22 series in a five foot blade. I got the price and said "write it up" . Very pleased. Ended up having over an hour conversation with the sales guy...I showed him some things you can do with AI and stuff. It was a fun outing.

Got it home and out of the truck, mounted it up and gave it a test

Well the boss wanted a pool so we picked up a 9x18x5 job. It was overcast this AM so we got it set up. The B3200 had the transport job for the box and I stacked all the cement pads for the supports on the quad. Waiting on the water guy to stop by and fill in next week. Sun came out for the last 45 min of assembly and it was brutal but it’s ready for water. Hopped on the B1700 and mowed to cool off. I guess I will get to my woodshed project sometime this week.

Did a small little project today. I added a standard receiver tube in the ballest box. I was gonna put it on the outside but then I'd have to add taller feet so it would sit level and I didn't wanna weld more so I just did this. Maybe not be good enough for some of you but I literally did this for sake of convenience to occasionally move my 12x7 utility trailer around the property. Not doing anything crazy with it. I did box the end of the tube so it wouldn't get filled with whatever I decided to put in the box. Thinking either sand or just filling it with concrete and be done with it. Might even add some PVC pipes to through in a shovel or rake! Tons of options to turn it into a little carry all thingy too.

Yes I will be painting it Kubota orange 🙃

I did some mowing, but had to stop and eat some black berries.

20250711_150335.jpg

Guess I should of taken the picture before I had eaten most of ripe ones, but they were too good to resist.

There are a couple of places around the farm with black berries and they make nice stopping places to get out and stretch the legs and grab a little snack.

Yesterday was weed destruction day at the horse farm. Spent all day getting things mowed and cleaned up. It was hot and very humid, but at least it's done for now.

Interesting fence in those pictures. I have never seen a sawn board “split rail” type construction like that before. Normally (to me) the boards are face nailed to the post and gates are required to allow livestock movement between pastures.

Is that a common fence style in PA.?
