Used to live in NYC,semi-retired up here. Small property (.4 acre) and was debating walk behind, but with a bum hip, I said why not. Stopped at the local Kubota dealer, he had the tractor on the lot.
We are right on the edge of farm country (1/2 mile to the nearest corn field), and as you go west from there, some real sized farms . I was pointing at a K8 on the lot, and said "You think it is too big for my lawn?"

They will deliver sometime Friday - thinking of adding a bagger kit

I have a T2290 also. Have had a couple of box store MTD riders and a Cub zero turn previously. Wife hated the zero turn so we gave it to our son and bought the T2290, which she loves. Best riding mower I’ve ever owned. Cut quality is noticeably better than the Cub, too. It’s a nice little yard machine.

We finally got a taste of winter. Wet, heavy snow with some top soil mixed in and high winds made for a three hour cleanup.

I put two hrs on the tractor today, to open the lane. Will finish it tomorrow. I am glad I bought the snow pusher. This is really snow blower snow, but I don't feel like swapping the winch for the blower, then back again.

I finished up something on the M6060 this afternoon that I should have done almost two years ago. The Grammer seat in that tractor came with plastic wrap over all the cushions. Oddly enough, the Grammer seat in the MX didn't have plastic on it unless the dealership removed it all for me.

I can see the appeal of how Grammer builds the seats by placing each cushion inside a plastic bag, but it makes it a pain for the owner to get the plastic off. The screws holding the cushions to the seat frame are screwed through the plastic. Before installing the seat cover I wanted to get the plastic off, so I had to unscrew each cushion, including the headrest cushion to accomplish that. The screws are a T25 torx head.

Anyway, here's the finished product prior to putting the seat cover on. I've seen seats on this forum in tractors that are older and with many, many hours and bits of tatty plastic are visible between the cushion and frame. Urghhh!

I haven't don much other than move things around with the tractor. But I have a lot of projects for the tractor. I have new lights and a bucket indicator in boxes. I have been wanting a roof for the tractor and the other day talking about it with my son's I told them about the trash bin lid idea. My older son said what about a golf cart roof. He works as a Golf cart mechanic and his Co. was just bought buy a much larger Co. about a mile away. They are cleaning out several buildings that are stacked to the 25' ceilings. I now have a 82" roof with all of the uprights I will need. ( It goes from the edge of the hood all the way just past the BH controls) Tonight he brought me a rain cover for it, so now I have a cab for next winter also.

I started backfilling the area behind the wall with dirt. Even at mid day the dirt was frozen, i was a bit surprised. I want to get teeth for the bucket, I think it'll really help break up the dirt piles. Weeds were growing as well, which had some root balls that were tough to break through.

Still, i got a good amount of dirt moved. Friday I'll go get my roller and back blade so I can start leveling it out. I still haven't figured out what I'm going to top the block's with. Maybe some pavers.

Used the L as an Uber to get to a pine that was going to take out our (future) fence. It's not if it will fall. With pines, it's when. It was a trick to get it to fall where it wouldn't get hung up. The trunk is about 24". My bar is 20", and I'm no lumberjack. I'll use the tractor to clean it up after I limb it.
And yes, it kicked back about 2 feet!

Nephew and I did some more work at the farm. We went out to the old barn and found an old cultivator so we decided to dig it out and give it try. We need a longer top link on the tractor, but we got it to work.

I also switched out my grapple for my bucket to do some dirt work. The grapple didn't come off often.

Oh you’ll get good use of that. I used mine for about 3 hours today doing driveway and access road to river boat landing site. I brought the stone up from sides with back blade last fall but never got the final touches done. This unusual weather here in SW MI has allowed me to get a jump on things. If you don’t have hydraulic top link, consider it - makes it real easy to adjust on the go.

I was outside boiling sap all day…while I had some down time I added a temporary lightbar…what a difference. (Yes I am aware the curb feelers are still on). Still need to fine tune the angle but it sure brightens things up a bit. (Headlights are on in both night pics)

Said to heck with it and took advantage of some unusually warm February temps and turned some ground. I was kind of impressed the L3301 pulled 3 bottoms, but the soil is pretty much beach sand

Spend 90 minutes moving old wet hay from around the hay feeder that the horses dropped as they ate. Man that stuff is glued together and gets heavy. May order a set of bolt on debris forks to act as a pitchfork to help move the stuff.

Nice! I remember cinder block days. How many taps ya have in? Ever consider buying an evaporator? I love mine 2x3 from WB Mason in Maine. I haven’t built a sugar shack yet so I have it bolted on a pallet and move it out from storage to the driveway for boiling with the tractor and forks.
