Mighty good help there.

I know it seems a 'waste' to disc down a crop of wheat....but depending on what you planted it for, it is best to start a new crop IMO.

IF planted mainly for deer, they utilize wheat more before it matures, preferring the younger plant. But if planted also for Turkey, Quail...then yes, the food source and cover are temporarily lost.

In any case...the wildlife will enjoy the resource and benefit from your labor and expense. (y)
The wheat was planted last fall with Austrian winter peas. These 2 crops will stay green & grow all winter, as long as the temperature is above 32 degrees. You are right, the deer love it. I have planted other crops, but this mix is my favorite.

TB, thought you said you were short of rain! Doesn't look like it in that picture.

I like it when the woman has to be color coordinated while plowing in the back 40! ;)
She must have know you'd be taking pictures.
We have been getting some rain. Enough to keep things alive. We need to have some runoff.

We need to replenish our ground water. My creek starts in a hillside about 3/4 mile away & has not run since last June.

My wife works for Cabela’s. She sees all the cool gear & needs to try it out so she can tell all her customers about it. It makes her happy. She really likes driving the tractor.

Quick root infested sewer line repair. We were ready for the inspector by 10 am (he didn't show until noon).

Not much to this one at all. I was a bit concerned about the knee wall until I rolled up in there today. It didn't present a problem at all.

Removed large yew bush. Ready to dig.

Had some tree work done today, once the stumps were ground, there were huge piles of dirt/chips. Since I am planning on adding topsoil later, I used the bucket on float to back drag the piles and pack the ruts in with the tires before it started pouring rain

I had a friend cut down a 100' tall white pine that was over the pool deck I'm building. About 10 years ago half of the top came through our roof and closet ceiling. I've been resisting cutting it down but it was time. Now I have to clean it up.

Sawmill nearby ?
A shame to waste beautiful pine logs like that.

Oil change, filters change, grease all the zerks. Changing the HST filter pouring out 3 quarts of fluid is annoying.

Mowed 4 acres and headed to the next lawn and was missing a wheel off the mower. Went back amd found everything except the lynch pin and one spacer. Let's see if a piece of type L copper will hold up until I get parts.

Post excavation reconstruction. I dug this one March 31st and rebuilt her wall that day. Went back today to finish grade and make it look better. Took care of her neighbors place too for allowing us access to do the sewer line repair.

Fixed, with the little orange tractor.

Finished mowing and went on a scavenger hunt. I lucked out and found the missing spacer. No sign of the pin but I have plenty of them.

Took the counterweight off and put my homemade trailer mover on the 3ph and staged some retaining wall block just at the top of the hill. in the back at my parents before the heavy rain came. Loaded 3 block (210lbs)in the bucket and 12 on the trailer for a total of over 1000lbs per trip to the back then unloaded them so he only has to load them back in the bucket 4 at a time and back down the hill then drive up the ramp we built to get to the site. We ran a couple trips with 4 in the bucket down the hill to get a feel for it, then it started coming down good so we called it quits. He's been using the little B all week to move dirt, gravel and block for this project, and the homemade FEL is passing all the tests with flying colors. I'm starting to think I might not get my little goat of a tractor back for a while and everytime I see the space in my garage where the Bota ussually lives I get a little sad lol
