I did some digging with the BH77 last week and it was painfully slow compared to the KX. Like night vs day.
Having spent enough time running a "real" excavator, just watching action videos of a BH77 on a tiny tractor is painful. It was an easy pass when scoping my tractor mission.

Hello. New to OTT, and a fairly new (1 month) BX2380 owner.

I went and picked up a BX5450 snowblower and BX2751 quick hitch yesterday. Used my clamp-on pallet forks to move it around and also test-fit the quick hitch. All I am going to have to do to make it work on my BX2380 is remove the brush guard and change the couplers on the blower&qh. I picked up the blower/ qh for 2700.00, saving about 1500 over the quote from the local dealer on the 'proper' 80 series blower setup.

I have the 40" berco softcab on order, so that will be the final summer prep needed to make my snow removal chores even easier. Much better than my old Gravely 4-wheel tractor and snow cannon.

My wife bought one of those vinyl cutting machines so I told her I wanted a sticker for my tractor. This is a paper test piece.

This is why I went with a 4wd machine for mowing. I can’t wait to be able to raise that all up! I can’t cut any further for at least another month.

Water table here is very high. It just sits there as there isn’t much of a ditch along the road. Once I can get dirt delivered. I will be raising that up a foot. If you look in the top left corner. That’s the ditch next to the road.

And my customer was bringing me logs with his MX4700.

Yup, he also got his hind leg off of the ground a bit and was 3 wheeling. I indicated for him to get that bucket down.

So wet. I got half the yard done and left lots of areas with standing water. Just beat the next round of storms. We may get a couple dry days next Tuesday or Wednesday. Ended up giving the B1700 a bath. Not the cleanest but I got all the mud and most of the grass off. Spent quite a bit of time getting the wet grass off the underside of the mower. Latching points on the deck wire through so I’ll be running without the covers till I can fab up a couple new ones. 06DBB904-9859-4B18-80E6-A78C422EBD39.jpeg 6B752A8B-8440-42CF-B49B-23315CC0C5C8.jpeg

Went to the dealer to pick up a pto shaft for my broadcast spreader and saw a hydraulic top link sitting by the door. Someone bought it for a BX and it was too long and returned it so it followed me home. At least that's the story I'm sticking with😉

I had a interesting day donating time and machine to the US Fish and Wildlife , Partners for Wildlife. They did a restoration prairie project next to mine. The sign was beautifully made but very heavy. We had to bolt it together. Then I went and got my tractor and grappled out a huge dying oak tree that the biologist cut down as it was dying from oak wilt.. After that we used the L2501 to help stand the sign up and set it.
The property that this project is on is owned by one of the local schools as a teaching forest. The school kids had a contest to name the project!

Awesome volunteer work Ken. My daughter is the DNR forester here in our area, and it's amazing how many good projects going on never make the news.... good things are happening around us in these trying times!

I was at a barn last week and the guy set his post hole digger next to a post and used a ratchet strap to tie it upright.

definitely my preferred method until I build a rack for it.

Dug a pit and lined the bottom with sand for 2 concrete blocks to set on, as bases for pressure-treated 6x6 posts. Burying them because there's way less, if any, frost heave at this depth in our local soils. The posts will support a 40" long beam at about 5 feet height above ground, 4 feet away from the wall, to support one side of a 1000 litre tote for garden water storage. The other support beam will be against the outbuilding wall where I'll GRK lag it to the framing inside.
Then out comes the new Titan 2" hitch-receiver mounted ripper to trench the water feed line to the creek where we pump from. There will also be eaves trough on the outbuilding filling the tank.
I'll try to remember to snap some photos and post on progress, but no guarantees! There's so much s**t to take care of and get done this time of year....
And SURE glad the 'bota's there to help!

Well, we did a little mowing today trying to beat the rain.

20210508_072732.jpg

We started doing more cleaning in one of the barns. Moved a barrel full of scrap metal to the trailer.

20210508_103853.jpg

Here is a picture of what the barn looked like before we started cleaning, which this is the third Saturday of us cleaning in there.

20210327_082359.jpg

After today, this is what that area looks like.

20210508_114707.jpg

We still have work to do, but we can now get three tractors in there without an issue. We are going to work on repairing the side doors to the barn and that will make accessing in and out easier (won't have to play tractor shuffle). We are hoping two more Saturdays of cleaning and we will be able to start leveling the floor and bringing in rock. The eventual goal is to look at pouring concrete in there, but we have several projects before we get to that point.
