I have the 2015 BX2370-1 with a 60" MMM drive-over deck (RCK60D-26BX).
I also had the "mulching kit" installed by the Dealer.

Now I would like to get a set of new blades, but I'm not sure which blades I need. Does the Mulching Kit require a specific set of blades?

Kubota lists two blade part numbers for the deck: "standard" blades are (60C-H28) p/n K5371-99040, and the "optional" (60C-H20) p/n K5371-97520.

However there is no mention whether of not the Mulching Kit requires one of these blades (or something entirely different).

BTW - I called my dealer to ask about this, and the parts guy said he would need to call me back 2 days ago - which he never did). Maybe he's still researching.

Does anyone with a Mulching Kit know which blades I need to use?

Thanks for you help guys -

Pat, at Messick's they say the 70000-70038 mulching blade part number has been superseded by p/n 70000-25020. They have them in stock at $16/ea. Thanks.

I don't see anything like that part number on the Kubota parts site - but I may not be using the site correctly. But Messick's is a good place to buy from.

@PhotoDJ, I've heard good things about the Gator Blades. I would need to make sure to get a set made for use with my Mulching Kit (if there is any difference). Maybe I can use the 70000-25020 part number to cross reference over to a set of Gators. Thanks.

My neighbor uses a set of the high lift gator blades. When he wants to mulch, he just puts in the plug :)

I would agree, the wholegoods book has not been revised as quickly as the parts side.

FYI the wholegoods books are meant for the sales staff.

My experience with High Lift Gator style blades is they do chop the grass into smaller pieces so you can't see the cut grass discharge normally seen. However, when you're done mowing check under your deck....you may find a severe coating of "green". It REALLY sticks to the deck when you mow throughout the year. The blades do their best on dryer grass, like in the Fall. No need to rake leaves, 'cause their is crumbs!
