I dont have a good manual for my L3300 GST. What is the CCA for this model?

I will probably be getting a battery at Tractor Supply or Advance Auto.

thanks !!!

Get the battery from someplace that turns over stock (not TSC). You are better off with an auto parts store. I'm funny with batteries.

I look at the tops when I buy one. If it's dusty, I pass. reason why is all wet charged batteries, once the electrolyte is added, they begin their total lifespan so a dusty topped battery that has been sitting, waiting for a buyer, is in the process of petering out before you buy it.

I always buy my flooded cell batteries from a volume dealer. You know it's fresh then. Having said that, I never buy store brand batteries, always Interstate. With batteries, you get what you pay for and having a flat battery when you really need it is a bugger.

I usually measure the size of the case and buy the largest size that fits with the highest cold cranking amps that I can find, making sure that the posts are in the correct position.

+ 10 on that method. I do the same. My M's came with 1000 CCA Yuhasa's that lasted 6 years, which I consider good. Replaced them both with the largest Interstates I could fit in the battery trays dimensionaly and in my case terminal orientation didn't mean anything as my cables are long enough to go either way.

I went with Interstate starting batteries with 1300 CCA. Getting time for another set, the Interstates have been in there going on 6 years now.

Doing fine but you never know when a battery will peter out. Always seem to peter out at the worst time.

Agree with the 2 post above and will add, get AGM. They charge faster, apply more current then the same size lead acid, and voltage loss over time of non-use is less then lead acid.

Sam's club has some Duracell AGM

No matter what don't get NAPA bats

I also agree to get the largest physical size that will fit and get AGM. No corrosion with AGM and perfect for a tractor or boat application. I have AGM batteries in every vehicle and my generator

Just do the dusty battery top inspection. No one will ever remove the dust from an old battery because it ain't a can of food. Groceries dust the can tops off so you don't know. Stores that sell batteries could care less which is ti your advantage.

My opinion is out on AGM's versus Flooded Cell batteries. At one time I bought a pair of Optima's for my pickup truck and they were junk. Always had good results from Interstates, read the reviews on the Net and let that be your guide.

Only a couple battery builders in the USA. Johnson Controls, Crown and East Penn far as I know. Everything else comes in a container from offshore.

I like Yuhasa which is OEM on Kubota Tractors but not readily available around here.

Find the group number on the battery and you won’t have to measure it, ex..group 35, group 65 etc. if it’s a Japanese battery it will be a JIS number which would be some thing like 55d23, 80d26. I can help you cross it to a normal group number if it has JIS rating.

Aside from the electrical issues GET A USER MANUAL for you tractor and READ IT, this is one of the most important things you can do as an operator. You can go to any Kubota dealer and he will get you one, for about $30. You can also look on eBay and find one. There is all kinds of information on operation and service that you NEED to know.

While I would probably never buy a battery at a dealership, I gotta ask... anybody know who makes the original equipment batteries that come with the tractor? Reason I ask is I've still got the original battery in my 2006 L3400, and it has never given me any trouble. I have always kept a battery tender on it, and from this forum I learned about tenders that are also desulfators, so I switched to this just last year:

Did I just get lucky with my battery, or are the originals typically that good?

Was curious so I went and check my battery. It’s JIS rating 75d23r. Converts to a group 25 battery.

I don't know the answer, but years ago I got many years out of a battery in my JD425 garden tractor with blower. Used year 'round in upstate New York.

When the original battery went, I was so pleased with it I did go back to the dealer for a replacement.

I traded it in for my BX when it was 16 years old. Had the second battery in it still.

That said, it was a lawn/garden battery and maybe I was lucky.

I would probably buy a good replacement for my Kubota from any source.

The tractor is kept at my property where my son lives about 35 miles from my home. He sent me a picture and the battery that was in it was a group 24 size.

I happened to be in a nearby town where they sell new batteries with cosmetic blemishes. I stopped by there and bought an Everstart Maxx size 24 750 CCA for $28. When I got over to the farm I installed the battery and it works great.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions and help !!
