Received the hooks from Ken, very fast delivery and according to my neighbor the quality of the products is excellent, I trust him because I have no experience to know one way or the other. The anchor hook was impressive, even my wife thought it was cool. Got it all welded up about the same layout as Rkidd, now I have to clean it up and paint. Only thing was the welder put the anchor hook directly on the bucket with no plate. Looks sturdy, plus I am not going to do anything too heavy and it does look good.
Question: Do I need a specific type of primer and is Tractor Supply Kubota orange as good as dealer paint? I have some Kills primer, couple of different kinds and one says non galvanized metal.

I can't answer about the primer, but as far as the paint goes I did a bit of research and all the reviews I read online said the TSC orange, and other non-OEM paints, are not a good match and seemed to have poor quality. For a couple bucks more I bought Kubota paint from Messicks. Very fast delivery.

No problem with welding the anchor hook right to the bucket as it has a 1/4" plate on top of the bucket from the factory. You can lift all you want. I had to put a plate under my anchor hook just due to the fact it is alot bigger hook and wouldnt fit on the exsiting plate like the ones from Kens do. I got mine locally before I knew about Kens. I also use the Kubota factory paint for all my touch ups and it matches perfect and works great.

My opinion: Get the OEM Kubota paint, yes it's cost's more but its guaranteed to match and will be 1000 times better quality than the "Magic" brand crap TSC is selling now. They used to sell Valspar brand and it was good stuff.

Your new tractor is worth it ;)

Oh, and where the heck are the pictures? :p

Thanks for the input, Kubota Orange from the dealer it shall be, I will be up that way if not this weekend then the next. Also thanks for reinforcing that it was okay to weld the anchor hook to the bucket.
As far as pics I was waiting until I got it painted but:

I got some tractor supply paint to paint some parts for an old farmall, and that's probably the worst paint I've ever used. I don't know how well it matches the original paint but it definitely doesn't match the parts I've bought that are supposed to be a match to the original factory paint.

I was at an auto parts store yesterday and they had about a dozen primers to choose from. I got one of them, figured if it was for autos it would work for my loader. May run up tomorrow and visit the dealer to get paint, that should give the primer plenty of time to set up and dry.
My last 8N is going to auction Sunday, don't really care what I get for it just want it to have a good home, lol. I had 8Ns for over 25 years and most of that time had 2, and at times needed both to get the job done. Hope the B2650 serves me as well as those oldie goldies.

Dealer did not have Kubota Orange but had Kimball Midwest and said it was a good match so I took their word for it since it is 50 miles from my place. As you can see from the pics it is a great match and is supposed to be heavy duty, have never heard of that brand. Covered very nice, I put two coats on so we will see how it holds up.

I am looking for something to lift/pull/play with, to test them. Highly recommend the anchor hook as you suggested, and the one from Ken really seems like a good size, not too big and not too small, and great quality. Really appreciate everyone's input and Ken's quick, quality service.

Ya the anchor hook from Kens is a great size. As far as lifting something up, get your chains out and see if you can lift the back of the wifes car up, not yours. Haha. Just kidding.
