I have read a couple of posts re: Weeping Stabilizers. Mine on My 4530B have been weeping down for 10 years and I learned to deal with it. I was at Tractor Supply looking at Oil and Fluids and I found something that may help other members with similar problems. It is called Lucas Hydraulic Stabilizer and Stop Leak. I bought a gallon and put it in My Hydraulic tank and it worked Great. Of course I looked like a fool sitting on My tractor raising and lowering My outriggers for thirty min to get it in the system. I don,t know if any other Members have tried this stuff but it realy worked well for Me. No more Weeping. :)

The weeping is usually a sign of the seals and o-rings going bad. Your trick could be a short term fix or a seal could blow and ruin your day when the out riggers are down and you're trying to dig.

Point taken Eric,
I,ll try anything once and this stuff worked great for Me. My fingers can,t take working in -10 deg to take the stabilizer cylinders off to get them repaired and since they have been weeping for 10yrs I figured I would try it. It has something in it that expands worn seals, and IT WORKS.

Yeah, I'm agreeing with Eric.

Wondering what other long term effects the additive may have on the rest of the hydraulic system. Any chance that it could gum up the works?

Hey,
when you mention wheeping.......you are talking about while in use? Or sitting still for a long period of time? I have a 2013 Bx25d and they slowwwwwly far over time.....and I mean slowly....it sits in a heated storage, and the cylinder can be seen by about an inch over a week of sitting....I consider this normal.

The backhoe will creep too if the pin is not in it. I consider this normal too.
So of the old guard here, tell me if you think this is a problem!!!

Trouble11 No need to be sorry for posting on this site. Lots of people have ideas that are great and not so great. Time will tell. Thanks for letting us know what you have tried. Your results could be helpful to others, one way or the other. Keep us posted on the long term results. Good Luck

85Hokie,
An inch or so in a week is nothing. Mine would go from raised all the way, to the ground in a week and it was worse in very Cold weather. Now they lower about an inch in a weeks time since I put the Lucas in. I would not worry if I were You, I think Yours is normal. Mine are 24yrs old. I will keep everyone informed if I have any ill effects with the Lucas.

I think "weeping" as you call it is fairly normal with hydraulic's and that is why Kubota built the pin system for our little backhoe's. My jacks drop a bit over time too but the only time I'd ever worry is if the they let go when I needed the stabilization.

This is kinda like using STP oil treatment (us mature members may recall) put that stuff in an oil burning engine (either rings or valve stem seals needed) and you could decrease oil consumption from a quart per week to a quart every other week...

Please keep us posted with results over time! Thanks trouble.

I always thought mine weeped back through the control valve. Did it with two different sets of cylinders. This spring I plan on putting a needle valve on the extend hose of each of the rams, to see if that helps.
