I bought an old B7100D. When running it sounds like the engine is knocking. I took it to the Kubota dealer and they said the engine was fine, the knock is something in the clutch or transmission. The knock stays the same no matter if the tractor is in gear or not.

I am handy with tools, having owned a farm, and now have more time then money. Any idea or just split the tractor and start pulling things out?

Does the sound change when you push the clutch in?

My money is on the pilot bearing! I just went through this with a B6100. Depending on your skill level, It can be a challenging repair! I am not sure how to post a link to my post on the issue. But I put in a few pictures and some details of what we did to fix mine.
