Growing up and on into my adult years, I operated a MF 165. A 60s model that was just a tad older than me. Once I bought my own little ranch I used an L2800 that came with the property.
I came to realize two things. Three actually. 1. I’m getting older and the heat takes more out of me. 2. The l2800 is adequate, but has no loader so it’s really just a lawn mower. And 3. I needed a loader and something capable of moving downed trees and hay bales so I don’t have to do it all by hand anymore.
Today I splurged and took delivery of a new MX5400 with a cab. I spent an hour just piddling with the grapple. I do not think I regret writing that check one bit.

Cheddar! An awesome rig you got yourself. Big CONGRATS.
Congratulations on your purchase!
I have been impressed with my MX5400, it was a huge upgrade from my Ford 860.
When going over your tractor make sure to check the oil level in the front axle, very common for it to be low upon delivery.

Welcome to the MX club.

Check the front axle fluid, they are always low.
Get some ballast on the back for grapple/tree work.

Nice tractor. After 4 years of owning my MX, I still think it was the best choice for my purposes. And the standard options on the MX are for me perfect. No unnecessary bells and whistles, but all of the operational features that make using it a joy.
