Almost at 800hrs and my service manual does not provide the procedure for adjusting the valves?? Anyone have one i would be greatful. I have adjusted many valves on older ford v8's, so not a total novice. Thanks sp357!!!
EM Nothing wrong with L4200. It runs like a fine oiled sewing machine. The factory service manual I have recommends the valves be checked and adjusted if needed at 800hrs. I oredered the factory service manual when I bought the L4200 new years ago and just surprised that the manual didn't provide the procedure for adjusting the valves. Just says contact local dealer.
I have a local dealer here who I talked to last night said he would get me the valve specs and procedure. If I do get it from him I will glad to share it on here for others who may need it.
The FACTORY service manual did not have the specs for adjusting the valves?? Are you sure? That just seems crazy.. I am headed out to pick my serv manual up for my B3300, boy for the $$ it should tell you that.... wow...
I *think* there is another workshop manual that covers the engine specifically, but apart from "free pdf downloads" on the internets, they seem to be a bit elusive...
I looked at the WSM again this morning and did find where three pages were missing in the engine section. I did a little diggin around and found them buried on the back side of the deck drawer where I keep all my service manuals. The holes that the the pages in the folder had been torn on all three pages and obviously had fallen out over the years. Anyway I do have the procedure and specs.
