Anybody know of a good way to jimmy rig it for the weekend? Gotta a bunch to get done.

Also, where can I take it to get it re crimped once I have it cut off, assuming I can find another solid terminal like this one?

I called a couple of the battery stores, the said they had no idea. Called a couple of auto-parts store..same..no idea.

I have to get work done this weekend before it rains tuesday and I really dont want to drop a $100 on a 35 in inch copper cable if I can get a terminal put on it.

Yeah, I think this may be the route, like you said, not ideal but that's what you get for overtightening things. Should be able to cut the solid one off with dremel.
It's only temporary .... unless it works! 😂😂

For the weekend a pair of vice grips clamped on there tight will do. If it’s the positive make sure it can’t contact anything.

Go to a marine shop or possibly an auto parts shop and get:

I picked up a new battery at Lancaster Starter and Alternator some time back and bought a few crimp battery lugs. Also bought some AL/CU lugs on Amazon when i made my jumpers. I had access to a crimp tool and it was a snap.
If you know an electrichicken they'd be able to crimp them for you in a minute. If not, maybe a rental center or buy a hammer tool like below. It's not like you're doing 5KV terminations.

I have marine terminals on all of my equipment.
I don't have battery cable conductivity issues.

You obviously have a Walmart close by. They show a 4ga 32" cable for $8.52 in stock near me. Yours, don't know? I've seen the visegrip trick at least once. Or a C clamp. Or you could drill through the clamp and post and run a 1/4" bolt through there.

But I'd replace the cable and be done with it.

Most truthful thing I've read on the internet in a long time...

I rigged up a battery connection on my truck to test out a few things. 11+ years later, it's still there, doing its job, untouched...

One of these from Walmart? Not the best battery terminals but they work well enough to get you back to work.

Those things are JUNK!!!!

But they will get you by for a few days. No way I would ever consider it a permanent repair, but in a pinch? Get me through the weekend?

You bet!

This is one example of why I hunt garage/estate sales. (for years)
Between here and the cabin, I have at least twenty different cables, pos & neg, and probably another dozen or so post clamps, pos & neg, a couple battery disconnects, some anti-corrosion washers, & spare bolts/nuts.
Plus a huge assortment of cable terminal ends & crimping tools.
All new.
Probably don't have $30 invested in all of it.
Enough to cover virtually any situation that may arise.
Have helped out neighbors a couple times too.

I added a second (house) battery to my boat last year and ran a couple of 2 gauge cables from the rear of the boat to the console, about 15 feet. I bought an hydraulic crimping tool from Amazon and it has proven to be useful for other projects too. It has multiple die sets for all manner of sizes and if I ever need to crimp on a lug for a battery I'll be using this. I bought boxes of 50 each of 3/8" and 5/16" lugs for 2 gauge cable.

For a long-term solution, lugs in combination with marine type battery terminals works for me and has for years.

Judging from marks on post and broken terminal I'd say they received a few beatings in the past. Could of been continuity issues, emotions 🤬 issues or combination of both.
