Trailer big enough?

I've got a B3200 with FEL and BH. I took the backhoe off for the winter and replaced it with a ballast box so I can't get a measurement of the entire tractor/loader/backhoe length.

I found an 18' tandem axle trailer for a good price but I don't know if the tractor will fit on it. I calculated the weight of the TLB to be 3200lbs, so that's not an issue, the trailer is rated for 7000 lbs.

I'm just not sure if the length is enough.

Any thoughts?

I,m sure that the trailer is big enough at 18ft. The specs for Your tractor say that it is 8ft3in overall length, this gives You 10ft extra for Your fel bucket and ballast box. It should fit without a problem. Good Luck

Yeah you should be just fine. I have a 6x16 tandem axle utility trailer rated for 7k with a 12" railing all the way around it and I've put alot of stuff on it over the years. Even managed to stuff a Suburban on it.

I used to haul my L3000 with loader and bh on a 16' trailer. It was all it wanted but it would fit. You should be in great shape with a 18' trailer. Just curious but before you buy it does it have brakes? IMHO I wouldn't buy a trailer that I planned to haul a tractor on that didn't have trailer brakes.

Some of these deals are to good to be true. A place north of me had 6.5' x 16' trailer advertised for $695. Sounds good but when you get there they had bad floors, used wheels, bald tires, no ramps or brakes. If you wanted one that didn't need repair to get off the lot it would cost $2100.

Thanks for the info guys.

Yes, the trailer has electric brakes. I wouldn't try to haul anything that heavy without brakes, unless I was towing it with a F350 or larger.

Your real issue will be balance and tongue weight. I use an 18' trailer, up until now for my L185DT with loader & backhoe. As soon as I get a new floor on it I'll use it for the new L3200. Make sure you don't run the tractor too far forward, and overload the hitch! Or, not far enough, and pick up the rear end.

Teikas Dad, I thought I would add one more thing that in MHO is great feature. Does the trailer you're looking at have a dovetail or a flat floor. I have had both and to me the dovetail floor is the only way to go.

Bulldog, the trailer has a flat floor (wood) with a drop down steel mesh tailgate. If I got the trailer I'd dump the tailgate and use two ramps. I've got a 5X10 trailer with the mesh tailgate and the mesh gives some when I walk on it. I don't think I'd want to try driving a tractor with FEL and BH up on it.

Not at all saying anything bad about a flat floor but it's amazing how much easier it is to load on a trailer with a dovetail . I never realized it until I bought the trailer I have now.

It depends on how the ramp gate is made. I have a friend with a L3410 and his trailer has a mesh gate. It hold his tractor up just fine. Personally I think I would go with the ramps though.

Head over to Discount Ramps and buy yourself a pair of 5000lb 8 foot aluminium ramps for about 450 bucks. They hold up great and are super light weight. Earlier this year I was driving for a towing and transport company and we used these ramps on our 2 car trailer after the boss drove off and lost the factory metal ramps flying down the road.
