Hey guys I was wondering if you guys take your tractors on joy rides what I mean Is just drive it just for fun! My dad for some reason gets super annoyed when I drive my 7100 he says I drive it like a car and that it’s not made for that lol

Absolutely.

The key words in your post are "when I drive my 7100". Its your tractor enjoy it. Do what you like with it. Just because its a tool doesn't mean it can't be fun as well.

Enjoy!

I’ve been known to take a ride in the woods on my trails just for the pleasure of it. Very relaxing actually.

All the time! I'll drive the tractor to the road to get the mail and my driveway is only 100' long. I call it the $50,000 golf cart.

Not like it’s hurting it. I used ours for moving myself and small quantities of stuff from one place to another more before we got a Mule, but if I want to drive it, I’ll drive it. Driving it just to drive it is the only reason Dad’s Farmall H, which is stall buddies with the Kubota, has been run at all in at least 3 years so he’s got no room to be criticizing me for driving mine for no apparent reason. 🙂

I drove the MX to the neighbors last summer for dinner, and a bottle of wine fit perfectly in the cup holder. It was even more fun driving home in the dark with the lights on. :)

When the local dealer completes the upgrades on the M6060 I'm picking up this Friday I'll have to drive it about 3 miles home since it won't fit on my trailer. Luckily it's a dirt road for the most part. With a top speed of 18 miles per hour it'll take me 15 minutes or so to get home.

Maybe hit a McDonalds drive thru for a cup of coffee "on the way".

I'm a coffee snob so that's not going to happen. Heck, I won't even drink Starbucks coffee. If the pub near me hadn't closed recently I could have stopped there for lunch on the way home.

Anybody with a brush hog or finishing deck hanging off the rear PTO knows how far they can swing on a tight turn.
I do not joy ride but I love to play when mowing. See how close I can get the deck to a tree after going around it. Or nail just one brake for a quick turn. This is done out of sight of the house and wife as it tends to tear up the turf.

I ALMOST used it to take the garbage cans to the road the other day, just for the fun of it. (my driveway is only 220' long). If I had more time before work, I would've done it...just because.
LOL!

Don't forget "Father knows best!"

If you have kids you will get there someday too! :ROFLMAO:

I always figured if the tractor was taking me somewhere it was not a joy ride, it was a function purpose! Also good to run the tractor to keep seals and things in good condition...

Once my parking lot in the winter is scraped down to solid ice it's donuts time with the tractor. Snow blower on front and box-blade on back, rops up of course and belt on, a little brake and steer to one side while moving and wheeeee!!!!!....
Controlled 4-wheel-drift donuts. Actually getting pretty good at swinging the unit into position for the next pass with the blower that way. It's a lot of fun.

ENJOY!!

Well I'm about to load the fel with our trash bags and bring to the top of the driveway where the receptacles are kept. They pick up on Thursdays and quite frankly I enjoy the 500' ride each way on Wednesdays.

There is something therapeutic and exciting about hitting the tractor seat. I've driven mine just to enjoy it, and I understand anyone else who does the same. I also do it in my CJ7, so why not my tractor? Life is short, so have fun where you can.

I do the same with a few of my tractors. I live back a long private shared lane, the mail boxes are out at the road. Kids hop on and we go get the mail. Normally one of them gets to drive out and the other (youngest) gets to "drive" back. Just don't let go of the wheel with him lol.
