Hi. Brand new here. Recently picked up my b2400. Got it for a great price, hst was blown up. Good used unit from Kentucky tractor and I'm up and running.
I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of approximately what yr it may be. Serial number 70823.
Thanks

The B2400's were made between 1995 and 1999 so your unit could be anywhere in or over those dates.
Tractors age starts from when it was first sold not when it was made, you'll have to go to a dealer with the serial number to find out when it was first sold.

Thanks. Yeah I knew the spread years just thought maybe someone could narrow it down from experience.

2 tractors with the sequential serial numbers can be years apart in their age...
Like I said, the age of the tractor is it's sold date, not the build date.

Ok. Thanks again for your reply. Past experience is with antique farmalls. Much easier.

re: Like I said, the age of the tractor is it's sold date, not the build date.

that's an interesting way to look at it, but I consider when it was built to be it's birthday. say you need parts for the tractor built in '95 but it sat at the dealer, for sale , for 3 years. It is possible the parts you order for your '98' won't work in the '95'. I bought my pickup in '99 even though it's a '97 and I KNOW a '99 radio don't fit it !

heck I was a preemy. stay 4 months in the hospital...so am I 4 months younger as I 'left the shop' 4 months after I was 'built' ??

jes curious how you came to 'sold date' not 'build' date.

There are three ways to pin down the build and "first sold" date. There is no code to decipher.

1) e-mail Kubota customer care the serial number. They will usually respond with the build date, date of first sale, and the selling dealer

2) If you have a friendly dealer, ask them to look it up.

3) Look at tractors for sale sites to get a

tractors for sale sites that give serial numbers, and age. That can get you close because the numbers are sequential
