Tire/Rim Concerns

My L245DT is still new to me. I have little knowledge of its mechanical history. Last week our weather went from cold to warm and humid. I noticed condensation on not just the heavy metal surfaces, but also on the rear tires. On one of the rear tires, there was a distinct condensation horizontal line just above the rim, the other rear tire was much less clear, but appeared to have condensation lower on the tire.

Am I correct to assume this is an indication of a loaded tire? If I am able to determine that the tires are loaded to different levels, is this an immediate safety concern?

With the warmer weather, I gave the tractor it***8217;s first wash in likely a decade or more. Having got through most of the layers of dirt and grime, I got my first good look at the valve stems (attached picture). Am I correct to assume the fitting around the valve stem indicates a tube?

Am I correct to assume the rust around the valve stem is a good indication of loading with Calcium Chloride? Having read that the rust may be worse on the inside, is the rust that is showing indicative of an imminent failure, or do I have some time? Should I expect needing new rims when I replace the (original) tires?

Not really as much of a safety issue as a bad operational condition, they should be the same to reduce stress and uneven loading on the drive train.

Could be either, but most likely a tube.

Or any other water based ballast, I've seen way worse but paint hides a lot of rust, and yes the inside could be worse.
It would be smart to just plan on getting rims when you do tires, they are not that expensive.

Im have a buddy with an old 1940s Oliver that he's restored for pulling wagons for hay rides & such. His rear rims/tires were loaded with calcium chloride & didn't look must worse than yours. He drained & dismounted the tires, and attempted to sandblast them for repaint, and he just made lots of holes through them. But I think his rims/tires were loaded for 50 or 60yrs, so I might give it a shot to clean them up. Worth a look inside, anyway.

As long as everything is inside the tube how would one chemical or another effect the rim?

It shouldn't, but that but that's in a perfect world. Tubes get old, develop micro holes & cracks, especially around the stem, (most stress) valve cores leak, even checking the tire pressure will let some out- just takes time after that. And calcium chloride is very corrosive, if that's what's in there.

I would add, that when filling there is likely drips all over. Any liquid that makes its way between the tube and rim will remain for years.
