I'm considering purchasing a 3rd function kit from Summit Hydraulics for my MX5100, has anyone had bad experiences with their product? It seems there's a big price jump (3-4 hundred) using other brand kits. Thanks

I installed the Summit 3rd function kit myself on me B2650. Completely satisfied with it.

Installed a Summit kit on my BX and no complaints so far. Go for it!

Thanks for the response's. At least there's only three or four choices for 3rd function kits, when it comes to grapples they're scores of choices (size, type, price, etc.), I'll cross that bridge after installing the 3rd function.

You usually want your grapple and 3rd function to have the same fittings, else they won't plug together. There's quite a bit of variation in fittings, and whilst they can be changed, that costs money. If you're keen to save 3-400 on the unit itself, you might end up spending that on getting the right fittings.

You may want to pick grapple and 3rd function at the same time, so you can pick the right options for fittings.

PaulL, you bring up a good point and there are various types of quick disconnects. I agree they should match, is there one type of connector preferred over other types? I'll only be using the grapple occasionally and don't believe I'll have any other use for the 3rd function. Thanks

I ordered the 3rd function kit, they did charge($32.00) to upgrade to the flat face connectors, so it will match the skid steer flat face connectors on the grapple. I'm all in for $582.00. Thanks
