An acquaintance of mine is looking to sell his 2015 BX1870 4WD hydro. I am considering buying it for smaller chores.

Wondering if anyone here can tell me if it would be able to pull a six foot wide 1200 pound roller? And, would the three point handle a 40 gallon sprayer?

Thanks in advance for any experience based advice.

I pull a 4 ft 900 lb roller easily as well as lift a 35 gallon sprayer with the 3ph my BX23S. I'd say the 1870 would be able to do the same. The 3ph capacity is the same across the platform. 680lbs @ 24" behind the pin. 40 gallons is approximately 320 lbs.

It will pull the roller just fine in LOW.....but I am going to assume that it will be on somewhat level ground? IF going uphill, you might loose traction, or worse going downhill, even slightly - that weight will push you hard and fast and be very unsafe. As long as you take it slow, and in 4wd - that machine will pull it and stop it fine.

3 point will handle the sprayer too - that's going be 320 pounds and more - if the sprayer can be pulled in tighter to the 3 point, it will make it easier on the machine. Does this machine have a FEL ? If not - get some weight on the front to counteract the weight of the sprayer.

jmf78, thanks for your thoughts. Makes me feel more at ease with the possible purchase.

85Hokie, yea, I'm a Hoosier aka flatlander...not a hill in sight. The tractor does not have a loader or any other attachments. I could probably figure out a way to hang some front weights for use with a sprayer.

Also, how big of tiller do you think it could handle? Already have five and six footers. Are these too big?

Thanks again.

ya .....those are going to be hard to pickup and use!!! Your machine is not even 4' wide, that 5' er might be picked up and might spin some dirt but it would have to be light cuts in the soil.;):)

I use the Landpride 1250 tiller on my bx1870. It does a hell of a good job, but is heavy. Definitely need weight on the front - FEL or weights. The front tires can come off the ground when backing up and then stopping.
