I have never worn a mask and I have absolutely no intention of wearing one. The governor in my state mandated that everyone wear a mask both indoors and outdoors. All the civilian stores are mandated to not serve anyone who refuses to wear a mask. That means that I cannot purchase anything in the civilian stores, so I do all my shopping on the Army post near me. Masks are not mandated there, the Military posts do not fall under the jurisdiction of the state.

Although there are many people on post that wear masks, from what I have seen it is about a 50% - 50% mix of those wearing and those that don't.

I am 66 years old, I have emphysema, I am missing half of my right lung due to wound that punctured my right lung, I have COPD, and other health issues. Even though I am supposed to be in the highest risk category, I refuse to live my life worrying about what is going to kill me. When my day comes, I am ready to meet The Lord. I am not doing anything to hurry that day but I refuse to kowtow to those that are panicking about a flu virus that has been around for many centuries. People need to get a life!

Actually, my doctor told me that because of my chronic shortness of breath that wearing a mask would be detrimental for my health. That however, is not the reason that I won't wear one. My reasons for not wanting to wear one is because I do not believe all the hype. I also do not believe wearing a mask if going to stop the spread of germs. Wearing or not wearing a mask is a personal decision and no one has a right to mandate that I do wear one.

Besides, if wearing a mask is supposed to protect one from germs, why would anyone care if someone chooses not to wear one? After all, isn't the mask wearer protected from those that choose not to wear one? How come no one is asking that question?

100% candidly speaking, I'm not all that sure what to believe so my wife and I do what we feel is best. I have a pre existing condition anyway.

The way I understand it, you wearing a mask protects ME from YOU, not the other way around.

Irregardless, I'll keep on with what I'm doing and so will my wife and most of my close friends.

I was watching the video of Chicago this afternoon on the news. Said 400 Cops tried to stop the looters but I didn't see ONE shot dead looter so there wasn't any real effort in my opinion.

Got an email from someone I know very well today. This was part of her email. I think she was living in Thailand at the time.

" BTW, I and my eldest daughter had the corona virus in early March. We overcame it in 7-10 days with homeopathic flu medicine (Oscillococcinum® for the Flu and Flu-Like Symptoms), herbal bronchial support, 2 grams of Vitamin C + quercetin twice daily. And I'm in the "high risk" category--72 and with lung issues. I had a more virulent virus a year ago, which everyone in the community (in Mexico) contracted, no one died, but I lost the sense of smell and taste for months. That makes me question this whole "panic-demic". "

I'm afraid we've been lead down the slippery slope by a bunch of elitist "drug pushers" for one last big score. Makes the Cartels pale in comparison.

It remains to be determined if a robust memory T cell response in the absence of detectable circulating antibodies can protect against SARS-CoV-2.

So, while previous viral responses suggest a vaccine may work, there is no clinical evidence to date suggesting that it will work against COVID, which is a variety of the common cold. Does anyone remember the vaccine against the common cold, or did I miss that one?

The observation that most individuals with asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 generated highly functional durable memory T cell responses, not uncommonly in the relative absence of corresponding humoral responses, further suggested that natural exposure or infection could prevent recurrent episodes of severe COVID-19.

Herd immunity works. (See Sweden) This whole shelter in place pandemic response was based upon false assumptions. We destroyed our economy for reasons other than accurate planning and response by the CDC. In fact, the sheltering may have extended or prolonged the event. By flattening the curve, we widened it immensely.

Different country with a different government. Not every country is like us. Not every country operates on the same principle of democracy and freedom of expression as we do.

They drive on the wrong side of the road too....... (n)

But to them the wrong side is the correct side....(y)

According to the CDC, through the end of July the average number of total deaths in the United States per day was 7,434 this year. In 2017 there were an average of more than 7,700 deaths per day in the United States. Where is the major increase in COVID-19 related death?
