Just purchased a new BX2360.First oil change not far away.I want to use a Synthetic Oil.I have been using synthetic oil and lubes for 23 years, but this is a new animal for me being a diesel and all.Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
If you want to use full synthetic go for it, use whatever oil makes you happy as long as it's diesel rated. There are plenty of choices, Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme (extreme designates full synthetic), Mobile 1 Delvac, Rotella T6, Amsoil..... the list goes on. Most of what you'll find is CJ-4 spec and that works fine in these motors with modern ULSD fuel.
Check your owners manual and your dealer- a lot of engine manufacturers do not want you to initially use synthetic until after the break in period. I know that some vehicles suggest running dino oil for the first 10,000 miles, then switch. I don't know about the Kubota- but I wouldn't want to risk my new tractor or the warranty.
And a related question- how much do you want to bet that the dealer didn't put synthetic in it when they assembled the tractor for sale?
