Hi , Im new here : )

I recently bought a BX24 from a friend , it has a backhoe and front bucket . It had only 43 hours on it and had only seen VERY light work.
Its a better machine than I thought and works well in the rocky dirt that Im working .
It has an issue. ONLY after it is warmed up , I get this squealing noise. It sounds ( but not completely sure ) to be hydraulic related as it changes tone when I operate the hydraulics.
I know a guy that has a BX24 also and he says that his does not make this noise. It almost sounds like a relief valve is lifting , that sort of noise? But I thought that the system was an "open" system. That the fluid only circulates when nothing is being operated.
The fluid level is right where it should be.
Its not super loud but definitely noticeable.

Any thoughts out there in Kubota land ?

With 43 hours it's just about due for it's 50 hour service.
#1 thing that comes to mind would be a dirty filter.
I would do a full tractor filter and fluid change, and stay with UDT or SUDT hydraulic fluid.

An open system always moves fluid, it's just the path that changes. ;)

Like da wolf said do all the filters and change the earl, and my self I would spend the 70 bucks for the bucket of SUDT, I did and it made a difference in the sound.

Oil filter and oil,,,

Hydro fluid and filter ,
,
2 fuel filters,

and change the fluid in the front axel too use the SUDT in it as well

Ok , absolutely will do on the filters this weekend if it stops raining : )

But wow.... change the fluids ? I busted out the manual and it recommends that at 300 hrs. hmmmm.

Also , I will pull the hydraulic strainer ( which the manual pointed out )

If either the strainer or filter shows up with a lot of gunk then fluid change it is !.

One other question / questions.

They mention using the Kubota hydraulic fluid and also mention an 80/90 wt oil.

Doesnt the hydraulic system / hydrostatic trans strictly use Kubota brand HYDRAULIC fluid ? It sure doesnt look as heavy as 80/90 wt.

Does the 80/90 only go into the front axle ? A little confused here. Its my 1st tractor.

Thanks for the replies .

Just use SUDT everywhere it needs lube, your not going to hurt a thing doing it that way same can't be said if you were to use the 80/90w in the wrong places. I would strongly recommend just changing all the filters and fluids, it's cheap insurance!

OH one thing I forgot to mention,,,, when you pull the screen filter, have a bucket a clean bucket ready cause when you pull it out all the fluid will want to run out that hole,,, don't ask how I know that
