So I have been using a pull behind spreader and towing behind one of our for wheelers. We are on our second one and the are terrible. They use the wheels to drive the spreader wheel. So we want to upgrade to a 3point, PTO driven one. I think the poly cone ones look better as we live in the Deep South and humidity is a problem for rusting the metal ones. What have y’all had success with it what ones do you recommend staying away from?

I bought a Poly Land Pride PTO spreader last year. I have not actually used it yet, but I read a bit online, and it seemed to be made out of better components than most other brands. That's all I can say about it at the moment.

I have the Land Pride FSP500, and it works very well. With it set to disperse in a 180 degree arc, it provides coverage in a 30 foot wide swath. I have used it to spread fertilizer (weed and feed) and insecticide granules.

The only flaw is that it is not quick hitch compatible (all my other implements are), but I only use the Spreader twice a year (once in the spring and again in the fall). The FSP500 is easy to mount to the 3pt., after the QH is removed.

I have a 500# metal spreader that is 20 years old. It has set outside al lot. The tub is solid as a rock but the gates and spinner show significant corrosion. I replaced all four impellers this year (two actually fell off). I have not checked but I assume all those parts are steel even on the poly so no gain there. That said if i had it to do over I would opt for poly because of the weight.

Kinda looking at that one or the 700. What on it is not quick hitch? Are the pins too wide or narrow or is it a top link thing? If it is the top link I’m wondering if some minor fab work could get it to work. Hate taking the QH15 off.

The dealer told me that it would not fit on the QH. I did back up to it with the QH, and it looked like it would not fit. As I recall, the tubular frame just did not match up in terms of distance from the pins to the top link. My QH 10 does not have the adjustable top hook, but I remember thinking that is was not even close. I also think the width of the bottom pins is too narrow. I am sure that you could overcome the fit, but for me it just is not that big of a deal to take the QH off twice a year. Due to the light weight of the spreader (big plus of the poly hopper), it is very easy to install on the 3 pt.

Thanks all. I called my dealer and ordered the FSP1000. I was going to do the 700 but they don’t carry it in stock due to the price difference of $50 they just steer people to the 1000. They have a bunch in stock so will deliver it next week when he delivers my grapple. Looks like it will serve us well.

$995 I think. We talked about several things and haven’t paid yet but I think the 700 was $945 so that made sense with $50 more quote on the 1000. That is with tax.

I paid $662.50 for the FSP700, buy I think it was some type of closeout inventory item, so I was told.

I have found them cheaper than what I am paying but they aren’t local and the $300 shipping kills any savings.

I looked at my records and I see I actually bought mine in late 2019. As said, it was some kind of inventory clearance I was told. And stuff has gotten so much more expensive since then. I rarely get lucky, but I guess I caught a break on that buy. But, I haven't used it yet, so I might have bought a lemon for all I know. 🤔
