Isn't 2,4-D one of the components of Agent Orange? Overkill for home use.
2,4-D is usually the main ingredient in anything labeled as a "Brush Killer" or targeted for trees/bushes/vines, and I believe that it doesn't affect grasses, at least not in normal use concentrations.

Yes, used correctly, it is good for broad leaf eradication in your lawn. Be warned, it's heck on flowers! :D

One thing that should be mentioned is the need to neutralize your tank and hoses when switching from herbicides to insecticides or non-selective to broad leaf only to avoid nasty surprises. Commercial neutralizers work best but, a double rinse with Arm & Hammer is way better than plain water.
